I don't know anything about the guy, but by implying that the guy may be a crook, you are basically telling others what you want to hear and they may as well play along with that. This is not a good way to ask for advice.

5 grand is a rip-off whether there is a trading room or not. I would never pay that much and I can easily afford it. Limit yourself to $2000 and seek those who provide plenty of evidence that their methods work. You can find some. Not too many, but there are some.

I don't think so. The more money you have, the more you can diversify, the more losses you can take without abandoning your trading. More money means a greater staying power. A good trading system is a must, but systems fail, that's why you need a good cushion.
