I'm not particularly happy about receiving spam like this. Is there somewhere on T2W where I should report it? Has anyone else received the same PM? Cheers, Steve ################################################ traders helping each other...

    Motorbikes and Corfu Roads

Hello, I hired a scooter in Corfu a couple of years ago and found the condition of the bike more worrying than the roads or other road users. The tyres had no tread and I kept sliding when going around corners. Other than that we had a great holiday.

I also look at ROCE and tried to work out Sharpe Ratio but failed.

    Sharpe Ratio

DIN, I think I've got the message now! ;) Thanks for the reply, basically I need to get some more data - I only have 13 weeks worth so far. So I'll keep this post and after a year look at it again and work out the calculation. Thanks everyone for the help.

    Sharpe Ratio

Thanks for the replies so far, but I'm not much closer to fully understanding how to calculate and use the Sharpe Ratio. There's so much information on the Internet but I still haven't found a detailed working example. I know the formula and what it tells you about your trades but not how to...

    Sharpe Ratio

Thanks Chagi, What I posted was my understanding of the Sharpe Ratio that I had got from various different websites. There was quite a lot of conflicting information along side some not very well explained information, so I had to guess some of it. Thanks for the help, I'll make some...

    Sharpe Ratio

Hello, I've been paper trading for a short while now and I'm wanting to analyse my trades. I have them all stored in a spreadsheet and I'm currently mapping the Equity Curve, ROCE, Average Profit/Loss etc I've been looking at the Sharpe Ratio and I've tried to add it to my spreadsheet but I'm...

    Newbie Software Requirements

the blades, Importing tickers into Amibroker is not something I've done - I did it manually, but I understand that you can. You will need to check out the website for advice on that. A ".L" after the EPIC distinguishes UK i.e. LLOY.L, I'm not sure what it is for US as I'm not interested in...

    Newbie Software Requirements

the blades, I download all the FTSE100 and FTSE250 in one go. All you need to do in AmiQuote is select "Tools" then "Get Tickers from AmiBroker" and this will select the list of all EPIC's you have loaded into AmiBroker. You do need AmiBroker running though. And provided you have the...

    Newbie Software Requirements

I think JonnyT answered that one. AmiBroker uses AmiQuote to upload the data from various different feeds - I use the Yahoo one. AmiQuote is a Shareware bit of software that comes with AmiBroker. It's a really good setup for beginners and I don't see why it can't be used by experts as well!

    Newbie Software Requirements

Hello, I use Aminbroker for EOD data. It's around £100 one off cost and then you can download daily data for free. I use this as I was planning on doing some long term paper trading and didn't want any monthly fees. I now continue using it as I don't see why I should have to make £20 profit...

    Trade Analysis

Mr Charts, I have only just started paper trading and have just 7 open and closed trades in my review spreadsheet. My system selects both Longs and Shorts, but the 7 are mainly Longs at the moment. ROCE is exactly what I'm asking about - how is it calculated? I know that "real" trading will...

    Trade Analysis

twalker, I agree about the simple system and I'm trying to get that. The variables I'm interested in won't affect my trading system, just tell me if the trades i have made are profitable, stable and sensible. Thanks for the reply, I really value your posts.

    Trade Analysis

Wisesestguy, I'm only looking at FTSE100 and FTSE250 stocks and I'm looking to hold for a few weeks time period. I'll look at Sharps, thanks for the reply.
