I have just discovered that Selftrade will not allow me to place a stop order within 3 days of a corporate action. They could not answer why but offered that its because of volatility. "No sh*t sherlock, thats why I place stop orders!!" Kind of defeats the object if you know what I mean...

Is anyone using iDealing currently. If so can you advise whether they allow stop losses on US positions and are these posted electronically or do they need to be done manually by the trade desk? Selftrade for some reason will only handle them manually up until 7pm - seems archaic in this day...

By the way I would go with IB but you can't trade through a SIPP or ISA

TD Waterhouse, ODL and iDealing are three that I know that allow a variety of order types on US ETFs.

Anyone heard of, or had any experience of the Schneider Professional Trader Programme. They are offering a 20d course learning through workshops and practicals (£3k). Interested to hear peoples views.
