Fair point, possibly reading this thread too fast. Also, fair point with regards to the normal distribution, however, assuming the writer is hedged - why should he blow up? (I do know that Socs is doing this naked). Also, surely the buyer is leaking capital in premium payments. Therefore -...

Not clear at all I'm afraid, you mentioned April at the start of this thread and now you're trading June. Anyway, if my vote is not too late it is "W". No choice really is there! Odds are skewed in your favor and over the long run you should on average win! I can however, also appreciate...

    Arbitrage trading investment funds

manfan, I almost feel sorry for you buddy! It is tough getting started but you never know...maybe one day. One aspect of trading that I have not seen mentioned on this thread, is knowing when to cut your losses........ but of course, resilience is equally important! On a serious note, if I...

In very simple terms: If a UK Government bond is priced in the...

Nuggets of Wisdom from Jesse Livermore, Greatest Trader Ever

Please explain how your predictive model(s) works - what I don't understand is how you manage to predict something without extrapolating the past in some way......ie trend following (in broad terms).....

Trainee Oil Broker - Evening Standard

Yep all very hush hush.......I believe many a Broker operate their recruitment in this manner (if not through an agent or word of mouth).....to prevent the opposition from gaining an insight. Also, one further obvious benefit would be the fact that any potential applicants can be binned if not...

    Job hunting assistance

Hi, Have you thought of getting a job as a Quant and moving into trading later? To me this seems like the ideal route for someone with your background. Try reading a few books like Market Wizards or FIASCO this may give you a better appreciation of what "type" of trader you would like to...
