Agree. Generally speaking, you'll get way better educational material for free by watching (decent) YouTube channels, Udemy courses, or by just playing around on a demo account with paper money.
Definitely don't let it sway you towards a broker with worse spreads.
IG are possibly the best out of that list, although there are several others that may be worth looking at. I used CMC for a while and generally wasn't too pleased.

It's a bit of a nightmare... the ones that appear cheap are usually the ones with the most hidden fees etc. Have you considered any of the UK brokers? They virtually all have access to the markets you mention and are quite tightly regulated, therefore not too shady.
