What are the top 3 things you do that improve your trading?

    1. Trust my technical signals - it's better to miss a trade than get into the wrong trade 2. Be patient - both waiting for the right trade and then waiting for my trade idea to come to fruition 3. Being aware when I'm breaking either rule 1 or 2 and being emotional. I'll take a break and...

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

On an idealogical level I'm neither for or against the Euro; in fact, have a single currency is probably quite a good idea for trade. However, on a practical level I am so glad that the UK is not in the Eurozone - if you can't understand the problems of the Euro presents then I'm flabbergasted...

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

Still think anyone long EUR these days is absolutely insane but that's just my opinion. What if you wake up the next day and there's a 500 pip move in USD/EUR? I guess there's always SLs but still I'd rather not take the chance.

LMAX Broker always seem to have sub 1 pip spreads during the UK day!

They've just added A LOT more FX pairs including good carry trade pairs which I have been waiting for!! +/- 0.3% financing charge; carry traders dream :) Just be careful in this market though...

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

Bam. EUR just got hit with Moody's Portugal debt downgrade. GBP getting hit too (especially against CHF) but not as hard as EUR.

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

QE is unlikely because of high inflation, and because the economy isn't performing THAT badly yet; it's pretty sluggish but still growing. There are still also 2 members of the MPC that are voting for a rate raise - personally I don;t think rates will rise will into 2012 but the current...

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

Agreed, if it shots pass 0.9100 then yeah there's probably another leg up in this trend but it's not a bad time to put a short on with a SL at around 0.9100 level.

    A Case for a EUR/GBP implosion

Interesting. I'm currently short EUR/GBP with a target of around 0.8750 to get out. Sentiment in GBP is extremely low at the moment due to the Euro crisis, weak UK data and the preception of further monetary easing (from previous expectation of rate raises). However, in my view I think the...

I have used TF/LCG for over a year now and have never felt like I was being cheated or had my stops hunted. This was not the feeling when I was with IG Markets. I have no affiliations with LCG or IG. I had several big silver trades stopped out over the weekend due to my own stupidity! Silver...

Next Door neighbour - Worst trader ever?

If I had a lot of paper wealth and I wanted to keep it's value I would invest it in gold, land and properties, with a small % to stocks. These are assets that keep there relative value and keep for a long time. Paper money on the other hand? What's $1 worth now compared to the 1970s? 1900s...

    Lmax

Just opened an account. Drawn in by the low overnight rolling costs (+/-0.3%!!) and the £100 offer. Interface looks horrible and charts as well but quick fills and tight spreads as others have mentioned. Just testing it out really and may use it as a carry trade account. Not a lot of FX...

MT4 and IG Index price discrepancies

I started out with IG but will never go back - always felt I was getting stopped out on spikes - it was unbelievable the amount of times when a price will just hit your stop in forex or commods and then reverse. I was a newbie then and used stops that were too close but even then the feeling...

Hello - I'm a small retail trader with Tradefair who I believe is a white label for CS. I've been trying to find info on how rollover cost is calculated on FX pairs - can you shed some light on this? Thanks Also I want to say I've been very happy with the service since switching over from...
