Questionable prices on IG’s ProRealTime platform?

Decided to go with another broker. After long discussion with IG they admitted that they only use mid-price on the ProRealTime platform, for whatever reason they couldn't say, though apparently they use bid price on their web platform. Decided that if they can't be bothered to be consistent with...

Questionable prices on IG’s ProRealTime platform?

Has anybody noticed the discrepancy in the open, high, low, and close prices shown on IG’s ProRealTime platform? After much questioning IG finally told me they are actually based on the mid-bid/ask price and NOT the actual bid price as the majority of other trading/charting packages do. Can...

    Sierra Charts Views/Opinions

Thanks Glenn. Sounds like I shouldn't have any issues then running Sierra. At the moment I'm using Investor RT on a Mac. However, since most software writers for trading software haven't been enlightened by Mac I'm in the process of building a new Windows machine for this purpose (running...

    Sierra Charts Views/Opinions

Thanks for your reply BJ21. You mention you use MP with Sierra. The description and screen shots they show on their website look pretty good and very similar to what I currently use in Investor RT. Am I correct that you can make composite profiles of any length you like? For instance, 2, 3, 5...

    Sierra Charts Views/Opinions

Thanks for your replies guys. Glen you mentioned about it being resource hungry. Is it still like that using the most recent update? I believe I read on their site under "What's New" that they have made improvements in that area. However, if you have the most recent version and it is still that...

    Sierra Charts Views/Opinions

I am considering switching over to Sierra Charts. A good read through their website gives a favourable impression. However, I would really be interested to read other current users views and opinions of the software. Cheers.

Reasons not to use Mirus Futures, Rosenthal Collins Group

Agree with you 100%. I firmly believe UK brokers aren't interested in the average retail trader but prefer to target the professional and/or large lot traders instead. I currently use Futurepath Trading based in the US. It is their fees I quoted in my previous post. Mirus charges €2.24 round...

Reasons not to use Mirus Futures, Rosenthal Collins Group

Previous posters have been positive about Mirus and they were recommended to me by my mentor as well. Haven't switched yet as I'm still trying to find a European/UK based broker. Only one I've come up with in the UK so far has been BFL but they are still more than double the price than what I...

Reasons not to use Mirus Futures, Rosenthal Collins Group

Cheers guys. Would be nice if a UK or European broker offered the same sort of pricing and services as available through US based brokers. Would really prefer to keep my account and trading local rather than sending money abroad with attendant forex issues etc. Spoke with someone at BFL recently...

    Direct Access Mac

Thanks Miyagi. Yes, I'm currently using Parallels on my main computer (MacPro) and VMWare Fusion 2 on my MacBook Pro. Both work fine though VMWare is probably the better of the two. Parallels works OK in a 1 or 2 monitor config but more than that and it is worthless. At the moment I use...

Reasons not to use Mirus Futures, Rosenthal Collins Group

Thanks guys, I'm definitely leaning towards Mirus though I would much prefer to find a UK or European broker who can offer comparable rates on the FESX. Cheers.

    UK or European futures broker

Can anyone recommend a good UK or Europe based futures broker who offers rates and intraday margins comparable to IB or Mirus? I currently trade the FESX and I would like to use a UK or European broker so I can at least eliminate the forex issues by keeping the currency in my home country. Many...

    Direct Access Mac

Mac platform Did you ever come up with an answer to your question? I'm in the same position. The only broker I have come across so far that has a Mac compatible platform is IB. That said I never could get it to work (must have been doing something wrong) and i have since switched brokers.

Reasons not to use Mirus Futures, Rosenthal Collins Group

Mirus Futures I'm considering doing the same. I noticed that nobody bothered to answer your query. have you since opened your account and what is your impression to date. Cheers.

    best software for a mac?

I don't really like trading off the chart so use my futures broker's own trade platform. However, I believe there is the facility within Investor/RT to trade off the chart with certain brokers. You might want to double check their site to be sure or drop them a quick email.
