Anyone up for rating some early-stage startups?

Saw this on techcrunch - seedrs - basically you can invest anything from ten quid up on UK startups and then retire if they become the next google  Like any good investor I wouldn't dream of making a decision on my own :innocent: so anyone fancy going through the options there with me and...

    Let's discuss Poker

Wouldn't say I'm serious but I've eked out a living in some otherwise hard times. Coming up with a system to monitor yourself for wild tilting is pretty much the major skill, as far as I can tell.

RBS to 200p - massively missed out?

Yes - there would be some fairly glorious market abuses if it didn't work like this, though :)

    Reviving the Cows

Just saw this thread and thought it was worth a revive, but sadly I can't help much. I went into the market as well a few years back, and reached much the same conclusion - and not being a farmer (or really having any great understanding of agriculture in general) it seemed like it was worth...

    Why waste time trading?

Yeah - the question with all of these people is "if what they're offering is so great, why is their primary business selling 'how to do this' books and courses?" That said, I wish someone would make a 300 page book from the good ten pages of all these things.

    Sport for fitness

Question for people here - I love running (it's great to have something I can control after a hard day's market fluctuation!) but does it matter what shoes I wear if I'm not serious about speed/serious distance?

    Mac vs PC

I dislike apple as strongly as anyone - I think they're a nasty, monopolistic and silly, but I'd still not really consider a PC as anything other than a games machine. The era of 'no trojans on mac' is ending (not coincidentally, exactly at the moment when apple got too big to listen to bug...

    Learn to Code

I'm glad to see someone link codeacademy above - it's great, and I'd recommend it as well. The learning curve with programming is smooth - you can start with baby steps, and ramp up at your own pace. But I'd also echo what flbroker says. It doesn't matter what language you start with, because...

I know you won't listen to haters - so try this: Rocky's the best because he gets beaten a lot but he always gets up! So make your aim to get as much experience as possible. And the only way that you'll do that is by betting small. There's a proverb in Go: "Lose your first fifty games as...
