I think this comes with experience. Everyone can see the level2 screen. I suppose you have to look behind it. I always think that if you want to trade at a certain size and level there must be someone else who, for his own reasons wants to trade against it. Otherwise it won't happen.
This is a common conversation between a dealer and broker. "what are they?" "10-15" "OK try and buy me 100 at 11.25" "OK, done" "That's brilliant, was it difficult?" "Um..well the jobber said how many more does he want like that"
Perhaps the most helpful one can be Market Microstructure for Practitioners by Larry Harris. It may get you way ahead in understanding bid/offer patterns.

IMHO, none of the resources already mentioned are useful.
