Why is the FTSE so slow today!

Is this just the calm before the storm? I would have thought that any uncertainty would lead to a sell off rather than everyone holding tight. Very little movement today at all, and the DOW was the same last night.

I'm tempted to have a small short with a wide stop at 5950 because the longer this goes on the more chance I think it'll collapse back to pre-Christmas levels

It's, still, 40 odd points above yesterday's low, although, as you say, it does not want to beat the high of Jan 3.

Hey! Who knows :D Indices are, always, full of surprises ! I don't forecast much beyond the day's close.
 
you probably need market profile to see what is happening

but after a sizeable rally, it takes time to get used to the new levels
and decide whether to accept them or reject them

traders are human after all
