Where To Find A Good Place To Trade Stocks?

I have done a little research into so-called arcades. It seems their main priorities are the trading of futures and fixed income instruments. As a result, most of these places seem not to focus resources/structure on the traders who are trading equities or cfd's. The front ends are very slow and way behind the competition.
Does anyone know of an arcade/prop house that has good systems for trading equities or equity cfds. ie on good competitive platforms ? Also what are the best platforms to trade uk and european equities?
