Trading NASDAQ stocks with Jerry Olson & Ian Hodgson

I was only trying to make a joke from the fact that we seem to share the same birthdate.

Sorry i wasted your valuable time.

Now come on JohnHL, I'm sure Jerry didn't mean any offence, we are all entitled to a bad hair day now and again.

Grey1, Your trades are indeed remarkable and posts educational and honorable without a doubt HOWEVER:

This blurb taken from the promotional advertisement for Jerry Olson Subscription services includes you as a trader in his for pay paltalk room:

GALLERY OF TRADERS IN OUR REAL TIME ROOM

Then we have Grey 1 (VWAP) fame from your's truly Trade2win boards. A technical trader of monumental proportions. Honest, sincere with a great vast knowledge of trading for a living properly. You will never find a nicer gentleman always willing to help others learn as they earn. It's been a real pleasure getting to know Iraj. Every trade is live, every trade is real. This man is as good or better than Jerry.

Traders do in fact post their real time live trades in PROFESSIONAL chat room where the moderator and his assistant/s post their trades while members can ask questions. There is an organized list of positions open and closed with Entry/Stop/Exit The moderator's goal is not to provide a "trader's gallery" for gawkers to observe how fast the moderator can trade ( It's very difficult to do that during the day since we are all trading so fast in scalp mode. Jerry Olson)but rather solely to bring the trade to the SUBSCRIBER, since that is what he is, indeed, paying for. If you do not take money for coaching then what is the point to stay on this thread which is solicitation for a real time trading room and/or trading classes? You are perhaps providing OJ with a PROFESSIONAL enticement for his 'subscription service'. It would better enhance your veracity if you would distance yourself from his advertising/promotional platform for trading class coaching (not for free!) and two-week free trial.

Alo alo alo hehehe my man euro trader

I have not ever and ever got a penny from jerry and i have not paid him any money for his room . How ever he is my man and he is my buddy and I truly think any one who wants to learn the basic of trading his room is great . I really mean that .

I also than k jerry for letting me to pop in to his room to talk to my other mates .

He must be doing some thing right if 100 people are happy to pay him for his talent . he has beendoing that for 2 years . I only met him 2 month ago.

jerry keep it up

pstt :-- I have been shorting the hell out of JOYG to day hehehe

BY THE WAY JERRY USES LINDA BRADFORD RASCHKE STRATEGY > one of the best traders on this planet and i would recommend to read her strategy as it has been used by many traders successfully

Who said offence had been taken?
In any case, I 'm sure he is big enough to speak for himself; so why don't you "come on" and let him.

There does seem suddenly to be a large amount of miscommunication and misunderstanding occurring on this thread. I'm sure not all of it is deliberate. Must be the weather.

Class Members From This Weeknd

I wanted to congradulate the class members that are taking my Online Trading Seminar on weekends. We talked on Sat & Sun, and many of you actually made money today.

We had several post that information on the logs of the room. I am totally gratified about that folks.

The name of the game is to teach traders my way of scalping that';s been working well for me for 10 years now.

Class was fun it was enjoyable since we had traders from all over the world, and yes even here in the UK, in with us talking and expressing their fears about this game.

In fact guys and girls, one of the UK guys did quite well today...I think plus +$250.00

fantastic really and so much more to come in the next few weeks of the class...

have a nice evening all

jUST AN EXERPT OF MY SUNDAY NEWSLETTER

JERRY OLSON'S
"POINT" OF VIEW NEWSLETTER
DATED MAY 21ST 2006
SOMETHING SMELLS FUNNY, HEDGE FUND SWEAT?

Hello out there all my trading friends from around the world. I hope this newsletter finds you all in good health and spirits this fine Sunday morning. Inna and I wish you all the very best that life has to offer.

You know what? A funny thing happened on the way to this crash. After thinking about the ferocious unrelenting selling pressure over the last 9 weeks or so, I have come to the realization that this was not an ordinary correction. IN fact it had this funny smell to it, like there was and urgent, immediate, and wild panic to sell sell sell everything and anything right now! Sort of "like get me the hell out right now"! So I stopped for a moment and began to take a step back from all this carnage to assess exactly what transpired over the last few weeks. I can assure you this was not the Retail Investor, panic selling folks. Those high volume days well over two plus billions were not the Joe 6 Packers screaming at the top of their lungs help me help me! On no this sell off, this wild spike down on the charts, this massive exodus from the markets was the "Hedge Funds" caught with their pants down. They were Net Long" Crude, Metals, Gold, and every single commodity on the face of the earth all at one time margined to the teeth. In this space over the last month or so based simply on the charts, I said and I quote, "this market in crude, gold and all commodities is an accident waiting to happen." Is that true or false, you tell me"?. I knew just by the sheer folly of this current mania that it had to end BADLY! And end it did. So what we all witnessed was certainly not that spike up in the PPI & CPI, it was the effect of overindulgent Hedge Funds that panic sold everything as the markets around the world began to collapse around their stupid heads. I say bully for them, you get what you give. Look despite all this clutter out there, despite this massive sell off, the "bond market" rallied fiercely folks, rates came tumbling down as bonds rallied. Crude oil plunged and could go a lot lower if it breaks near term support levels. Did anyone see the Gold Futures charts? They have a long way down to go if you ask me. Now obviously the NYSE group of stocks that are energy related, heavy in gold stocks, heavy in commodity type stocks, all got smashed to smithereens taking this index down faster than over the last 1 1/2 years. Same for the NASDAQ market too. So while the Hedge funds were dumping all these "longs" they were holding, thinking they were going to the moon, this panic selling took the whole market down with it.

G1,

I remember with pleasure the old Technical Trader forum in the days when it was private and polite.

One Last Comment Before A Drink

This paragraph from Eurotrader has nothing to do with really with anything at all.

this is a copy and paste set up using his own words, and some of my words, to try and start some junk here on our thread. A typical ankle biter if i ever saw one...

Let me say it was a wonderful joy for me to meet Mr Grey 1 and all the folks here on Trade2win. Nothing this person or any other person says about me or my work will ever stop me from posting my thoughts to you all.

No i am not a guru, not a big time fund manager, not a licsensed stock broker, all i am is a good scalp trader period ended.

While everyone including detractors like this guy are certainly able to post what they think since it's still a free country, i would suggest you all take it with a grain of salt.

It is obvious that we call live trades in my room, just drop by and see it for yourself...

so all this nonsensical prose he cleverly pasted together to make this point is nothing but hogwash you all get that???

Grey 1,

Sorry to drag you back to last thursday. I was trying to understand your pair trade BRCM/MRVL that day. If you can remember it, was this a VWAP bands based pair trade? I have tried to pull up charts for the day with my version of your MPD bands from the old technical trader thread. They both look like possible longs at various points in the day but I can't see what triggered you into a pair trade. Which was the short?

I've attached a screen shot of the vwap bands I see for the day. Thanks in advance for any time you spend on this - just trying to understand the reasoning

Best Regards

Gareth

Hi Gareth ,

I am so sorry replying so late. I needed to get a bit of rest .

The VWAP engine uses two methodologies to trigger a signal .

1) VWAP band ( provided the stocks are at the upper and lower band )
2) Darvas if the price is not near either of the bands

I have already mentioned that twice on the BB specially in a thread to Trader333 question . MRVL against BRCM is a Darvas signal .

Have i answerd your question ?

A quick post to support the great work that Jerry does for those who are prepared to sit up and listen. Others, in my opinion, clearly do not trade and have therefore never experienced the beatings that the market can hand out on a near daily basis! As such they are unable to see the wood from the trees, and are probably just playing around and getting lucky once in a while!
I spent two weeks in his live room free of charge, as he offers all who are interested. The room is a great trading environment, with camaraderie, support, advice, and knowledge freely available from many people including Jerry. He charges $50 per month for this with a newsletter included.
Having spent more than three times this amount, and more, in other rooms available on a similar basis, with comparable information and experience, it is clear that this is fantastic value for money!
Take it from someone who has traded full time for over two and a half years that this guy is a very good trader. He is honest. He makes losses. His wins exceed his losses. He is consistently profitable. He is a pleasant humorous, and seemingly generous guy.
Detractors will always have a dig, their reasons inexplicable from my perspective!
I guarantee that most, if not all of you, who make the effort to share some of Jerry's time will come away enriched from the experience.
And, if you think "enriched" means anything other than enlightened or educated in some way, then just do another google search for the holy grail!
Cheers

Grey1

No problem with your reply speed you can take as long as you need as far as I'm concerned. Posting at about 9:30 ET I certainly didn't expect a same day response from a Nasdaq trader! but I got one anyway. I was just taking a couple of days off after finding myself fighting against the market like King Canute last week.

Just to confirm my understanding, BRCM/ MRVL was a DARVAS pair trade. Does that mean you look for Long and Short DARVAS based signals to coincide or is one a darvas and the other chosen as a hedge based on relative strength on the day and/or VWAP?. Did you scale in based on DARVAS signals in multiple timeframes as you mentioned earlier in the thread. Sorry for so many questions especially if I'm being thick.

Best regards and thanks for your help

Gareth

Q-Man

wow thanks so much. I have no idea who you are but i truly appreciate the kind words.

From A Class Member Via E-mail

Hello Jerry,

Made some trades today, 200-400 shares/trade. End result was
flat (+$10). Could have a profit of +$180 which i made in first
2 hrs but didn't listen to your advice to calm down after first
2-3 hrs. Its so hard to listen to good advice in life and keep
on doing the same mistake of overtrading. Tomorrow, I will
spend 5-10 minutes first to read the classroom notes, to remind
myself again; although you remind people again and again in the
room. Overall it was a good day, drawing some lines, trying to
understand the backside bounce...etc. etc.. Thank you !!
Have a wonderful evening !

-Jeet.
