Simple Question About Stricknet

Friends,

1. I have been using Stricknet to download historic option data.

2. I find that occasionally Stricknet changes the symbol for an option, say from KLFAY to QAVAY for
a strike of 25 with the same expiry date.

3. Does anyone know if there is rhyme or reason to when and why this occurs?

Appologies for asking such a simple question,

Thanks,

Will, this was a LEAPS conversion of QQQ Jan 2004 25 put. You can find it here

http://theocc.com/market/leaps.jsp

Dates for LEAPS conversions you can find in the expiration calendars

http://www.optionsclearing.com/publications/xcal/xcal2005.jsp

I think I've noticed exchanges changing names when options go from leap satus to nearer term option status.
