SB Account in Another Currency?

It's silly question time again guys and girls...

I have been thinking (over a very large brandy) about FX and the like. I always saw myself as a Footsie kind of guy, but now I'm wondering...

Anyway, I digress. Is there any advantage to opening a SB account in another currency? Please go with me into a hypothetical situation, which is not based in any reality at all...

Currently, the Euro is worth about 90 odd pence. Assume that the Euro used to be worth £1.80 and we believe that one day it will return to that. Would it make sense to open an account in Euros and leave the money with the company until it could be changed back into GBP in the future?

I am terribly sorry for asking such a question, but I'm struggling to get my head round it... It could be the brandy, or it could be that I have no idea what I'm talking about! Peoples' comments would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

S
