Q2 League Table

Below is the current league table and performance points for Q2 so far. There's four weeks left of this quarter so is still a chance for anyone to win. The league table is below which shows the absolute scores, but there's a large difference in the amount of trades people have put on so I've also attached the week by week results spreadsheet to give a more compete picture.

Name_____ATR Adjusted Percentage
dmt257___________3.00%
tradeAweek________2.60%
CityTrader90_______1.39%
Pat494___________1.08%
SlipperyC_________0.98%
Canto1922________0.75%
isatrader_________-0.19%
TradeTheEasyWay__-0.81%
collin2985________-2.30%
A_fr_____________-2.56%
wigtrade_________-4.23%

Name______Performance Points
Pat494_____________3
dmt257____________2
TradeTheEasyWay____1
CityTrader90________1
Canto1922__________1

dmt257 leads the quarter but has only made 3 trades and hasn't traded since April. Pat is still the most consistent performer as has traded every week and continues to lead the performance points. (y)

Remember to get your picks in over the weekend as normal.

-1x ATR: 1575.78

iShares Barclays 20+ Year Treasury Bond (NYSE:TLT)

Order Type: Warehoused

Direction: Long

Initial Stop loss: 93.49
Initial Target: 100

ATR (200 Day): 1.189 (1.23%)
ATR (52 Week): 2.825 (2.93%)

ATR Targets: - Based on Fridays close at 96.33
-1x ATR: 95.14
1x ATR: 97.52
1.5x ATR: 98.11
2x ATR: 98.71

Entry Reason
I bought treasury bonds in my ISA in April when I got the volume buy signal in the TLT. These have done very well so far and protected my ISA through these last few volatile months. The TLT is now consolidating back above the 200 day moving average. I have an initial target of 100 at the top of the weekly channel but if the S&P 500 breaks down further than 1250 then I think TLT could challenge last years highs of around the 109 area. But for our weekly competition I think the initial target of 100 could be met.

Weekly ATR(52) = 3.2537 (2.77%)

P.S. My view on gold is that it is showing some divergences but hasn't given a sell signal yet. It is entering the "summer doldrums" where there's less physical demand until around late August time and the Indian buyers reenter the market for their wedding season. So I think it will move lower over the next few months but might not have topped out yet.

Short ANTO
Market
Stop: 1350
Target: 1160

Reason: downtrend with poor economic news last week adding to demand worries.

Hi All,

My pick this week is;

LIMIT BUY DAX
Entry; 7050
Stop; 6960
Target; 7250

Reason; lets see if the 7000 area / S&P1300 holds!

Incidentally I'm short GOLD from 1546 in my live account (£5/pt) with a tight (guaranteed) stop at 1558. I think its bounced around this area for too long and will retrace to 1480-90.

Interesting analysis on 20 Y tbonds.
I have the opposite expectation on tbonds. See attached chart of 30 Yr tbonds. Also look at my chart of treasury yields http://chart.ly/mlcnynb which is opposite of the bonds. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Thanks tradeAweek, it's always interesting to see how someone else is looking at the same product.

See attached my weekly chart of the 10 year bond (IEF) and the 30 year bond (TLT) with a 30 week weighted average. This is my Stan Weinstein method based chart which shows that both are moving into early stage 2 of his 4 stage method as the moving average has turned up and price has broken out. Stage 2 according to his method is the time to be long so my plan is to stay long until it moves into a stage 3 situation and hits my stop which could be many months yet as this is a longer term method.
