MetaTrader 4 Data Source - reliable?

Hi,

Im currently using MetaTrader 4 and getting data from this server "MetaQuotes-Demo - MetaQuotes Software Corp".

I just want to know if it's reliable for making trading decision. Does any1 know of a better server? + It only has data for Forex, Indices data would also be helpful.

Last 2 days have seen some bad data come through on cable, with prices adrift by nearly 20 pips at times this afternoon. Makes the short time frame charts unusable. Hope it improves, because it is a good charting package.

ziggy....it does have indices and shares also...


goto view > open a market watch window

then on the marketwatch window hold the mouse pointer over the word "symbol" and right click mouse...

in the menu that appears click "show all"

if you scroll down the quotes in the window you should now have dow jones/s+p/nasdaq etc...

all chartable

MT4 can be downloaded from: http://www.alpari-idc.com/
Menu/MetaTrader/MT4

The MT4 feed will be from Alpari's server, you could also install MT3 and compare the prices.

try Stargybuilderfx.com forums they use a custom Metatrader version is the best very similar to C+ and has a great forum with many programmers to bounce idea’s off of. And best of all it’s 100% free..

Should that domain be 'strategybuilderfx.com' instead of 'stargybuilderfx.com' ??
