RePost oldies but goodies

1 (Daily Chart, 65ema/260sma crosses) or (Weekly chart, 13ema/52sma crosses) for those who only want to check their charts on fridays!
2 (Daily chart, "Front Runners")

1 LongTerm Long side only.
2 Front Runners YTD outperformers crossing the index

2 EX: MCD vs DJIA
When MCD crosses DJIA on a YTD compare I'm in. Keep the winners dump the losers of an index. Instant outperformer every year.

For those of you that like the LT strategies but are looking for some more income...

Use the above strategy #1 and when the Long side cross, buy the "Junkyard Dogs". IE...Junk Bonds and Preferreds ETF's (HYG, JNK, PHB, PFF, and PGX -basket) Serious Income Didivends and price Appreciation. Currently their Div Yield are 9.25, 11.51, 8.54, 8.00, and 7.51 respectfully. And when the market was lower in the summer their yields were greater when the whole LT strat turned around.

With these type of assets they typically track the overall SP500 in correlation pretty closely. The reason behind this is, with these type of securities, their biggest risk is companies going bankrupt but not many companies go bankrupt when the whole market is rising.
