Laptop with Pointsec - cannot read harddrive

I wonder if anyone can assist

I have a laptop with pointsec loaded on to it but unfortunately I cannot wipe the hard drive and rebuild the laptop as an error occurs when running the xp disk: drive not detected, is there anyway around this?

The laptop was given to me by my last employers approx 9months ago and now I want to use it for my 6 year old daughter's basic internet access.
