Sticky Introduce Yourself

Newbie

hello all

I found this forum because it has stuff about ProBackTest in it.

I'm looking for members who use the backtesting or roll-your-own indicator because I want to learn more about the programming features. In particular I want to know how to 'call' my own functions, perhaps written inside other backtest modules. I'm sick of including the same bit of code for say, trailing stop loss, inside every module, so if anyone knows how to isolate bits of prorealtime code, I'd love to know.

Backtesting is a feature that you get on the IGMarkets platform and it has a use for testing strategies.

I have tried a load of strategies and I'm learning that a strategy that works for one instrument won't work with another, but I'm looking for one that works more that 60% of the time.

I've coded in Morning Stars, Harami's, MA crossovers, DI crossovers. I've been very busy.

Frister or Fleecer?

Thank you to the management of this site for the opportunity to participate in this
forum. My question is about Avi Frister's system, namely does it work?

In the interest if paying forward (and forgive me if this is all too obvious) but no one
should buy an ebook from clickbank (like Frister's) without becoming a clickbank affiliate
and then buying from himself.

I am a Nigerian, retired 57 year old who wish to trade full time live very soon, before the end of this year. I have practiced over two years trying to horn my skills. I am confused by the many things I have read or being told by a friend who is trading live and who is very good my my estimation.
Just introducing myself. My aim is to trade like an informed illiterate few indicators price action mostly.
I hope to hear from someone soon. Can someone tell me about inside bars and nice simple e books to read on forex. Stay blessed.

Hi

Sharky asked me say "Hi" so here it is.

Only traded for two months so far. Don't really know what I'm doing. More like gambling on what I guess is high risk stuff. Been buying small amounts of finacials when the four year average dividend yeild is over 5% and the price is many times below the 52wk high. An example is DSL down 34x with yeild 23%. I undestand past performance is no gaureentee of future performance, but that's the system I'm starting with. Oh yeah, and I'm spelling challenged.

New member and first time trader.
What advice can anyone offer for the most effective way to build confidence on the trading platform? Experience is only gained with participation but how can I acquire experience with minimum collateral damage?
Would appreciate any feedback, guidance and advice.
