IG Index application

Just sent off an online application for a IG Index spread betting account. After I submitted the application I was told I was ineligible for an account to be opened automatically, and that I would be contacted by the new accounts desk for a 'chat'.

Anybody shed some light on what's going on here?

You probably just ticked one of the boxes that raised an automatic red flag.

It's just bullsh1t, you'll get the account no problems.

If your application indicates you have limited resources they will want you to open a "limited risk" account where you use guaranteed stops with a wider dealing spread. Much for their benefit as well as for you.
