A quick question re E$ futures.. it there potential for a slippage nightmare on stops around NFPR time? (i think i already know the answer and its a big YES  )

A couple links for brokers other than FXCM:-

http://www.gftforex.com/
http://www.cms-forex.com/

(imho) GFT is a more user friendly platform, both are 3 pips wide on E$ and provide from chart trading.

Hi Darktone,

If you use Stop Limit orders in the correct manner then the answer is no you do not get bad slippage.

More to the point i have not experienced it in real world trading.

thx jonny.

Have to admit im a little surprised, as i understand things with futures you need someone on the opposite side to get a fill  (i know that 'should' be the case with spot...but...). If there is no one on the other side then your filled at the next price/s. If this is a problem at retail level then what happens when playing size  .

Ive had slippage before with 'real' shares and Sbet cable (13 pips the worst  )But no probs with E$ even with Sbet, but this was at no larger than 10ppp, not sure this would be the case if i where placing bets 100ppp +.

Cheers dt

You can get slippage with cable (GBP/USD) but I tought we were talking EUR/USD which has good liquidity. My experience with GBP/USD is limited to three days!!!
