Hi,

I'm new here. What is everyone's experience with gold futures at expiration? I have noticed that gold usually drops on expiration day. Is this a normal pattern? Thanks.

first one should look at that contracts run. if the contract is trading very high near closing week, high chances are thr that it will go down due to profit booking from buyers. and vice-versa. Gold has been moving up siince few months now. Therefore you are feeling it drops on expire (profit booking by buyers)

gold has possibility to dip till 1100=1080 leels. but at present..even a dip is good chance to buy for 1200 tgt. 75 is und index. and the long left gap at 74 is its tgt.

i have also noticed the trend channel you have highlighted above. hoever todays candlestick had broken the resistance of that channel, and is gold is now flying, presently gold is at 1142. and the todays candlestick is way above the resistance point What is going on? is this a break? will we still se a reversal? or is it now only upsided? HELP

i have one more chart which shows a possible resistance at 1172 above 1150.However thr is a opening gap at 1120 which should get filled sooner or later. Its a good thing to ad shorts on rise with tgt 1120 n stoploss unknown!!

ps::thr is no indication of bearish trend . just hope for some consolidation.

the fall in gold till 1132 n the rise up indicates a sharp support. it either can shoot prices up by 50 $ or make a slow consolidated rainbow shaped arc to dip to make new low ,on charts.
