unfortunately I didn't ride this position until it hit 60 but I grabbed a decent percentage of the move.I use today's open compared to yesterday's close.
4,5 points swings are welcome as long as they are in my direction :).
My chart has no indicators so I assume a screen shot wont help.

Entered at yesterdays close for a long entry. Still in and locked in 4pts too. Might talk tomorrow, might not, week's shaping up to be v.busy.

You are nicely in the money. good look my friend...
Your swing profits make me feel bad about my trades.

aversano,

The quote of yours above stuck in my mind and a moment ago it resurfaced.

You mentioned earlier trading gaps. Noticed today there wasn't much of one.
Then you or robster970 mentioned taking 1.25, 2, ... points.

I pulled 1 point on the drop around 11:00 am eastern us time.

Curious though how you trade w/o indicators. Volume? Your just watching price?
Can you tell when a move is getting exhausted? When one is beginning?

Any thoughts/comments would be of interest.

R U & robster970 using similar methods?

Today there wasn't much of a gap but I still decided to trade. The moment of entry is determined by the chart and T&S, I look at them very closely.
I first pick a direction of the trade then guesstimate when buyers are resisting sellers and vice versa. things are dynamic as you can imagine but this is in a nutshell.

robster970 mainly swing trades. Our only similarity is that we go long and short :)

LOL - you're right.

I only use price with no indicators. Volume confirms when there is interest but IMO is not absolute and only confirms. You get to learn to trade price with no indicators by watching the screen day after day for a long time.

Turn off all your indicators and try it on sim.............

What timeframe do you trade?

5 minute

When you fellas trade the gap, are you expecting the gap to fill? Is that assumed a constant?

Noticed there is a gap down of about 4 1/2 pts this morning.

Only have 1 indicator now. Does that include MAs? No MAs either?

For T&S, do you just watch the orders go by or do you use some chart arrangement showing buy & sells on any given price bar?

Looks like it's about 3/4 of a point from the close.

Do you consider that filled or will it revisit?

I closed the rest of my position around 1168.50. and for my stats, this isn't a gap closure. To close it has to CLOSE.

I place limit order at the previous day's RTH close. If it doesn't fill by end of RTH then I close the position at the market about 5 mins before close.

If you're trading on a 5min timeframe you won't be swing trading then and much I would say will not make sense. I have a 200 period MA but I look at that on 1d chart :)

I tend to trade a bit similarly but on the hourly to 1 min charts. I note it had an engulfing bear formation 2 hours ago and looks like coming right

I would look at the 1h and 4h and ask if this is an opportunity to go long after a breakout

Or on the 5m - is that a double bottom (I don't count the pre-market one)?
