Early Morning Range Breakouts using time and sales

Didn't trade today, but I like to share some beauties of today. With these in my mind I can remind myself how a good trade/setup should look like.

I traded ALXN, made $0.70c
CHKP, made $1.00c
DTV, made $0.40c

Nice day, best one for a long time.

I've been testing over the last 2 weeks and I'm going Live again tomorrow.

I have been averaging $2.26 profit per share traded.

Also started a Skype Trading room which is a fantastic way to share information and skills.

If you like add me on skype its someshdeswardt

My updated momentum list (NQ only) for upcoming sessions

Momentum NQ.png

Some stocks do very well and consistent with this strategy over time.

DTV.png

Notice the backtest equity curve on the top of the charts. These are rising in a fine ascending slope. The backtest risks initially $ 200 per trade.

Here the backtest report of CELG

CELG testreport.png

Although it has a positive expectancy, the average trade (excluding commissions) is just $ 22.74. And that is with a higher ATR stock.

And here the backtest report of DTV

DTV testreport.png

The average win of DTV is $ 29.71. Notice that long and short trades do equally well.

Maybe someone with proper knowledge of backtesting can tell me if the results of the backtest are great or has to be (much) better?

Limitation of this strategy.

Not all stocks make money trading this strategy.

One example I found was SIRI. If I really want to lose, then all I have to do is to trade this stock alone.

SIRI.png

The equity curve is descending very consistently!

Do not trade penny stocks with this strategy.

SIRI close up.png

Look at the close-up to see what happens. Chop, chop, chop! And this is even without commission costs to trade 20.000 shares.

Trade entries of this morning (didn't mentioned these trades live here).

CRUS
CRUS T&S entry.png

CRUS4.jpg
Entry short 700 @ 28.46 (perfect entry I have to say)
Out @ 28.31 (profit 15ct / share, I killed the trade for evening dinner)

Just 5 min. later CRUS dropped to $ 28, thus exited a few minutes to early ;-(

The trade should have been as below. Entry at crosshair, exit at end of chart.

ASML
ASML T&S entry.png

ASML2.jpg

Entry short 900 @ 48.95
Out @ 49.04 (lost 9 ct / share)

Entry was ok, exited too late, should have exited earlier at break of ema or at entry.

June 26

Trades 06-26.jpg

It isn't the end of the month yet, but I probably won't trade the rest of the month.

Equity curve with IB4.jpg

I've got a drawdown of approx. $ 1800 (incl. IB commissions).
Result of June $ -700 (incl. IB commissions)

Note that trading with IG Markets commissions for two months wouldn't made me a single penny.

I had some spare time in the last hour of the session, so I decided to look for some opportunities

Trades 06-28.jpg

PETM entry with Time and Sales window.

PETM3.jpg

PETM entry at break of resistance. When it eventually broke, I entered it on the first little pullback. Exit first part at 66.61 and second part at 66.72.

BRMN - If you don't know what a Doij is, then this is a Doij! Entry at cross, exit at end of chart. Exited early, because markets had great risk of reversing.
