Betfair API software coding

Does anyone know why Betfair does not have any public API's etc for developers to build their own automated trading software?

No SB has. Only the ones that use MT4 and there are not many of those. The question was asked on the capital spreads thread a while ago but from what i remember the reply was either not very honest (which would be unlike Simon) or he simply doesnt understand his own technology. I think they simply dont want to do it.

Perhaps you could ask it again in the CS thread and we can press Simon for a fuller more honest answer.
