When is the best time to trade EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY? Just that they don't seem to be moving enough for me to scalp in the last two hours.

I tend to trade the news as that ensures a greater degree of volatility to cover the spread!

The time that tends to be the best, most active one for trading the majors is the NY/London overlap - about 7am Eastern to 12pm.

Probably not the week before Christmas, when most traders are going to be either taking long lunches, or late starts/early finishes, and/or avoiding any significant trades that are likely to impact the year's p&l. In the absence of specific economic news, it's likely to be very quiet over the next couple of weeks.

Ah, that's why!! I always thought the mornings were busy but this week it has been rather quiet compared to normal.

I am going to publish spoof news that London has run out of beer, wines and spirits. That should get FX moving again. :D
