All things FTSE

Me :cheesy:

But it is little too late, damage has been done for the day :(

To make matters worse, Finspread went down for like 25 minutes, so I couldn't amend to trail stop, so just closed it over the phone.

How many points then ? :cheesy:

About -20 even with the two nice rides I had today,

The problem started when I got majorly on the wrong side of the USD data report. I should have left it alone but no, I knew better  , so tried to catch the ride up only for the damn thing to come down again. So a lot of whippy action resulted in a lot of small negative trades.

Lesson learnt

** Finspreads down again, they are so sucky today...

hello hello hello

Hi all,

I'm here for a while on this website, alot of information (traderpadia) to find out.
I'm trading for about 6 months now and learned so much with reading books and this forum.

I have a question for all of you!
Are you all fulltime traders?
I think for me it's not easy to trade and don't see how the market is moving all day.
I use Capital spreads for trading ...in future i'll try to trade with futuresbetting (direct access) but for now i don't have 7500€ for opening an account.
Let me first make a strategy&gameplanand see how it works...

My trades today for FTSE100
long + 19 points
long - 8 points
result today +11 for today
indicators i use: (RSI14, stochahastics,bollinger bands, EMA5,15,20) (3,10,30,60,daily, weekly charts)
In the afternoon i also use the charts of DOW JONES
After opening the US markets it was a bit heavy for me

thanks for reading this
Vincent

Taking a little break from the FTSE :| need to get my mojo back

Will still frequent the board though.

Short 6553 Cash, stop @ 6568, target 6554. Entered on chart resistance, RSI divergence, MACD crossover. (1 min)

5 min chart more bullish, but tight stop in place.

Hmm. What is that rule about not letting a profit become a loss? Stop hit, -5.

Do you mean 63 short ? Or did you go short earlier ?

End of the multiday consolidation ?

Cash Ftse has been on the sidelines as many of you ftse guys know but if the 6600 breaks we could see spurt towards 6700 (but I'll take 6660 first target) vs 6586 now...

Statistics on FTSE volatility

I am trying to develop a strategy based on FTSE intraday volatility.
Can any helpful soul give me indications on when intraday volatility is almost assured ?

For instance what are the statistics on FSTE intraday volatility on:

- Triple/Quadruple witching day
- Interest announcement days (both in the UK and/or USA)
- Time of the year (for instance last days before Christmas ?)
- Time of the month (first Monday or day of the month ? )
- Time of the week ( Friday ? )
- Any other occasion and/or time.

Beside specific information, does anyone know of any research, book or source of information?
Thank you for your help.

Good call Hook Shot!

Looks like you got it bang on Hook Shot.

I made the big mistake shorting @ 6589, ignoring my ema and macd signals

Interested in knowing what will be everyones new support and resistance for the next days trade on the FTSE DAILY CASH?

Thanks and never mind...:cheesy:
What got my attention was the small pennant formation which had built up over the previous few days between roughly 6600 and 6530..... it felt like a situation ready to blow....

My support is now the recent highs around 6600/6620 roughly
My target beyond 6660 is the round number of 6700 no reason other than round number.

Short from 6648 (cash). Stoploss at 6653. Stop hit. Market now at 6643 5 mins later. Should have set the stop one tic above the recent high, not at the recent high.

-5

Silly me.
