9 Net winning trades, the road to being a Pro Trader?

The sensitivity on this forum is at all time high never seen it at this level .

I'm not sure about "respecting" other posters as it's difficult to respect people who talk rubbish (I have no-one particular in mind !!!) but maybe "tolerate" is a better word.
The snowflake generation seems to have arrived here looking for a "safe place" and it actually should be.
Bear in mind t2w is 95% better than it was a few years ago thanks to an apparent change of policy and the efforts of some staff members. In fact, it's a haven of decent contributors, apart from two or three morons - and they have every right to be morons as long as they don't spoil things for other folk. Live and let live - the basic tenet of civilisation.

Agree , live and let live , express your opinions freely within the site guidelines and tolerate others if they disagree with you and criticize you - again within the site guidelines - .

to many ego wrestling on those boards always holding constantly absolute truths which in my humble perception translates in absolute BS.

Many healthy discussion are killed by those strong opinion/beliefs, here the egos can get very aggressive (fear) in defending something that exist only in their mind, showing a luck of maturity as a trader and as a person.

(of course here I am not referring to anyone in particular...)

Strong egos dont accept criticism they take it personal and they flat our refuse to accept the fact that others may disagree with them , they dont want to hear any criticism , so they refrain to name calling , sarcasm and lulz , and lastly they use the "its your ego" card . As they say the best defense is a good offence . Its a two way street .

Or to put it another way, when people write tosh we should be allowed to point it out or some unsuspecting inexperienced trader or visitor here might think tosh is ok or the norm.

As you say the common defence to pointing out tosh is abuse and your negative and hey a threat to leave. My comments didn't start out personal but just as a voice against what was being written as a good trading plan. For gods sake those things are not even options. The rest was an over the top defence and how we just don't get it and are not in the 0.01%.

Now that was lulz.

At at deeper lever it is wanted to be right, fear kicking in, fear of death.......

Lets be honest, we all have an ego, especiality traders, that is why we are traders or wanted to be.....

But that is not a problem per se' having one, the problem rises when we are not aware of it and we let it run our lives or our trading.

Egos are rigid because they are scared.....

Markets are not rigid but the opposite, they are fluid....that's why having a grasp of oneself is essential in today's trading...

But knowing it or reading the Douglas' book will not be enough, we need to get down to the nitty gritty, here emotions will arise and mr ego will come to dance....

Knowing it, letting be without creating obstacles to our goal is not easy, but patience, generosity courage, humility and honesty will help.

Do you think that any of that could be used to describe you at all? Apart from the lulz bit. :)

People are free to express their opinions in discussion boards , whatever effort or campaigning to shut up the other party isn't going to work , so criticism is here to stay , agreement and disagreement are here to stay , many members in the past tried to shut up the other side it didn't work and it never will .

So man up accept that others may disagree with you and even openly criticize or challenge your opinions , and lets get back to work/trading .

Good Luck

Constructive criticisms are certainly healthy but limiting our posts only to that can be detrimental to the community.

It will be also healthy to share to others our knowledge in regard and expose ourselves to others constructive criticisms. Doing so will create a balance.

Otherwise if the community is based only on constructive criticisms, many will be hesitant in sharing their perception but only build a defending mechanics to reinforce the nature of the ego.

Criticizing is much easier than creating.
