Anley, scammers have to invest money too. At least that is what they call it, "an investment". They don't tell you that money they invested is to steal your money. They have to pay out money for web pages, brochures, airplane tickets, computers, phone lines to a different buildings, cheap office...

What do you mean? It is the americans behind this scam, along with all of the the other scams connected with this one.

I earlier posted that I wasn't aware of scammers operating boiler rooms in Malaysia. They do operate some of the 419 scams from there as well as other scams. They must have found some authorties they could pay their tea money to.

Thanks for your research. I knew they had offices, more like resorts, in Malaysia, but the boiler rooms were located in another country.

Anyone calling claiming that they can recover your money, are completing part 2 of the scam. They will ask for money for some reason and you will lose that too.

In all circumstances it should be reported to the police. You were cold called in Singapore but in your circumstances there may not be much they can do except warn future victims. Remember, you did not do anything wrong. The problem with Korea, is many victims think they were called from Korea...
