    Manchester

Hi guys. Are there any arcades in Manchester? Any plans to open one? Groups of guys already trading from an office? Just trying to gauge interest here.

    Eurex commission rates

Parky, Yes I'm self backed, TT front end. I would have thought it should be possible to do much better than that also. If anybody would please point me in the direction of a better deal I'd be much obliged!

    Eurex commission rates

Hello chaps, I'm looking to get set up remotely with a London based FCM to trade Eurex products, specifically Eurostoxx. Who's currently offering the most competitive prices for 1000+ lots per month? I have a quote from GNI at € 0.75 per side, plus Eurex exchange fee at € 0.30 per side. If...

    Linux & Ninjatrader?

Depending on how serious a trader you are I wouldn't mess about with emulating Ninja via Linux, just get good old XP Pro on there instead. Job done. If you were really particular about wanting to use/try Linux as your main OS, you can always dual boot XP & Ubuntu off the same hard drive. Boot...

    ESIGNAL data is un reliable

Hi Glenn, I'm afraid I wouldn't know about datafeeds for individual stocks as I'm purely a futures guy. All I could suggest is to get in touch with CQG and ask them whether their data can provide you with the solution you require for Tradestation. Sorry I can't be of more help!

    ESIGNAL data is un reliable

I cancelled my esignal datafeed when I discovered during side-by-side tests that their quotes weren't keeping up with the (free) transact datafeed for the ES. It's just a no brainer. Grant is right regards CQG, it is a cut above anything else on a retail level, though you certainly pay for the...

The Earth moved for me !

It hit me too, very similar to the last one we had in 2002. Apparently the epicentre was Lincoln, though I had people on the phone to me from London and Manchester saying they felt it, so it was no joke. Nothing like nature to put us back in our place. :)

    Cqg

I think Reuters and Bloomberg are around £1000 a month, Grant, though don't quote me on that. CQG's speed and data quality is excellent in my experience. You have to look at the cost as a business expense - if it pays for itself then it's worth the asking price.

You might look a bit daft carrying a 3 piece suite into your reunion, go for an arm chair instead.

Thanks to everyone who replied, much appreciated. :) Jack o'Clubs, that's the sort of thing i'm after! And yes, I have read Gerald Appel's book - very good it is, too.

    Mutual fund database help

Hello chaps, Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum but i'll ask here anyway; I'm trying to find a website/database that will allow me to track mutual funds on a quarterly basis with some specific ideas in mind. Basically I'm looking for mutual funds whose volatility is more or less...

    Managing other people's money

Hypothetically speaking, if I should decide to manage accounts for a small client base at some point in the future, and charge a fee for my services, what are the necessary requirements from a legal point of view? For example, in order to trade US futures for UK based client accounts, using an...
