    fibonacci patterns on the spx

gartley having started, here's in real time (almost) a gartley trade set up For me I trade gartleys that trade between 0.618 and 0.786 retraces with a clear abcd where cd= ab for entry as a minimum and 1.618 as a maximum Anyway as the Americans say my bad as I didn't take this set up as I'm...

    fibonacci patterns on the spx

I thought I would post a few of these patterns here as taught by Larry Pesavento Three basic patterns in that school 1. Gartley 2. Butterfly 3. 3 Drives I thought I may post a few here as they occur (mainly intraday) We currently have the potential for a butterfly top here. (please note...

    fibonacci set-ups in the gbp

just looked on the posted chart and still can't see it that well, hopefully well enough with the points. The orange abc line up is the one. Broadly the mlt after the bottom went up in an a or 1 down in an abc b or 2 and now up in a EW 3rd or C. Internal wave structure pretty crappy though but...

    fibonacci set-ups in the gbp

Here is a chart I was watching yesterday. GBP seems to be reacting to a cluster of 1.618, 0.382 and 0.500. It is in overbought territory and I know several people here have been shorting. Always like it when a chart reacts nicely to a cluster.

    Nexus by Steve Copan

I follow MM, but view it more as an overlay of how the market is going, ie an interpretation of the market rather than a trading system for the market. In the end of the day the market is of course the only truth and there are many ways of looking at it. Is it useful to me? Yes at times it...

    Nexus by Steve Copan

Bramble, all good questions. The book came out late last week so I would suggest that people have had time to read it and perform an amount of backtesting. It is demonstrated on the spx in the book, but is also relevant for other markets, 24 houjr mkts such as forex being the suggested ones...

    The Market Matrix

Mee, I would echo Slapshot's comments - not a blackbox but a way of understanding the market using various tools. Wave59 I think is based on Bryce Gilmour's work which definitely has much overlap with the concepts in the matrix so would prob fit to an extent. HIs geometry of markets book is...

    speadbet or broker

A couple of observations here:- - benefits of spreadbetters I think exist if you have a small account which is what you propose because with many you can bet smaller amounts than the futures contract sizes. Examples are FTSE futures - £10 a point on Z U8 on Liffe, S&P futures ES U8 are $50 a...

    Welles Wilder's Delta Phenomenon Book.

Hi Zeppo, it's at The Market Matrix By Steve Copan and it ain't cheap. I found the CD course quite eye opening for me but then it linked into some concepts I was already using but it went further and put them into more of a holistic framework. The book is probably more accessible than the CDs...

    Welles Wilder's Delta Phenomenon Book.

Just to point out that a book on the market matrix has just been released which may be easier going than the CDs (released yesterday so I have yet to receive my copy). As I think mentioned above with these approaches getting them to work for you is very different to them working for someone...

    Trading the SPX

ES 60 minute chart review A sunday morning review of where we are on the SPX. Looking to go up in the short term here towards the top of its channel. Start of month and everything looking bullish for new money coming into mkt at the moment. I would have resistance being in the 1548-54 area...

Any good books/ websites for learning Fib Analysis?

Karmit, there are several organisations which teach various aspects of trading incorporating fib analysis. I'm mentoring with the guys at tradingtutor.com who use fib alot, but they also link that with pattern analysis. There are others if you search. Good luck!

    Dow 2006

It's been very problematic trying to short this mkt. The trend followers must have been having a great time recently!. I feel another move up tomorrow if the fed leaves rates on hold. On the other hand a surprise rise could be just the trigger! Some day this must break but it's been testing...
