That`s a good question ,never asked, will remember for a next time. After an hour the stock had descended 50c past my entry position without execution so I cancelled the order. It done me a favour in the end as it quickly rebounded. Raises the question of stop sells or buys to close a position...

I placed the order the day before and I did not want to miss it as I am always in and out the house. But you are right, I do prefer trading with `market` rather then leaving an order on. It was made worse yesterday by low volume, as in my previous post I would not normally trade a low volume...

I have just experienced a problem with IB on the size of a trade. I tried to trade 55 shares on a sell stop that never filled, with the price sailing past my price. The help desk told me its because of the odd lot size, and that typical trades are in 100 lots. Has anyone a view on this?

    Winning Rules

I have some basic questions for you Grey1, What do you use to determine the market trend for the times you suggested, is it the market as a whole, such as the NYSE or DowJones, or do you look at sectors, and where would the info be available. Sorry if this is elementary for some

    Darren Winters

Thanks for posting the link, I attended a DW course 3 years ago and found the article accurate and detailed in the examination of the claims. I actually lost a lot of money in the weeks following the course, by putting tight stop losses on all my blue chip shares while I went on holliday for...

    invest china

I was investing in some chinese stocks listed on the US markets but there is limits to the amount of fundemental info available. The last share I had was CESV that I managed to make a small profit on over a day or so in Feb, and was just about to dip in again short term when it was suspended...

    New England Manager

No skeletons in cupboard and Terry Venables was not what I had in mind, good point about Steve Coppell quiting a job after a few weeks but we werent privy to his job description and the inerference that may have gone on. We have tried the so called best in the business without success, we...

    New England Manager

How about starting the search again and choosing someone who has experianced international football as a player, is well respected with no skeletons in the cupboard, is young enough to take on board new ideas, and has just gained promotion with hardly any resources...and is English Steve...

    Can't Pull the Trigger

In my humble opinion...you all seemed to have gone off on one. The last one and half pages have shot off on a tangent and isnt helping the originator to pull his trigger, There`s so much goblededook attached to shares, it seems like witchcraft to me, pit noises, pivot points, head and...

    Can't Pull the Trigger

I found the best thing to do is make a decision on how much you can afford to lose and put it into your trading account. Then tell yourself this is money for your education. It is a steep learning curve and I personally couldnt get a the same buzz with paper trading. I have been seriously...
