Hi, I am the project admin of an open source stock market software - JStock. I would like to invite you to take a look on it. Here are the summary of JStock.

JStock is a free stock market software, which supports multiple countries' stock market. (12 countries at this moment) It provides Real-Time stock info, Stock indicator editor, Stock indicator scanner, Portfolio management and Market chit chat features.

JStock 1.0.5d had been released by today.

There are several highlights :

Feature: Is my dividend earning increased from year to year? Is Microsoft dividend payout decreased from year to year? JStock will help you the answer all the dividend questions. (http://jstock.sourceforge.net/features2.html#five-header)

Feature: Enable user to specific symbol in user defined database. Instead of typing code "6012.KL" which is difficult to be memorized. You may choose to enter symbol "MAXIS". (http://jstock.sourceforge.net/faq.html#database)

Feature: Pressing ESC, will enable user to deselect table in Real-Time Info, Stock Indicator Scanner and Portfolio Management.

Feature: Added "JStock Home" menu.

Feature: Right-click and buy stocks from the Stock Indicator Scanner.

Bugfix: Incorrect Hong Kong Database. Click on the small bottom right computer icon, will resolve the issue.

Bugfix: Wrong information for Spain Market database. Click on the small bottom right computer icon, will resolve the issue.

New version 1.0.5g had been released :

Feature: Support Brazil stock market.

Feature: Able to play sound for alert.

Feature: Able to add indicator scanner result into real-time info tab.

Bugfix: IndicatorProjectManager's directory may become invalid when loaded from cloud. This bug is fixed in 1.0.5c. But is being remove accidentally after that.

Bugfix: Avoid using adjustedClosePrice from Yahoo, due to badly constructed charting look.

Wonderful post with a good information and knowledge which helps people to know more. The stock software is the most important and useful means to understand the current situations with the help of charts and graphs.
 
Very nice were are you getting your market data. FYI I have wrote program for myself and posted it on the web in case others want to use it you can get it here turtrades. I get historical data from yahoo.com and would be interested to learn if there is other data source. Keep up the good work.

Looks good! Hey I am looking for code that I can use to make my own trading platform. Not for charting... I need to make a market depth and bid/ask system to allow trading of an instrument. do you know of any pre-built code that I could work with to build my own dom to facilitate trading?

Bugfix: Spelling fix. Change "UnitedState" to "UnitedStates".

JStock 1.0.6o had been released, 3 bugs fixes.

This release implements a very efficient history data caching mechanism to reduce history server load, uses Boolean.valueOf for minor optimization, and ensures that during combo box selection the investment flow chart dialog will not suddenly resize.

Nice to see in your FAQ the way you pull data from yahoo! Great way to get a free cheap datafeed for beginners. How do you send the SMS?
