Hello Pat

I read an article about it in the October 2006 issue of Traders magazine (www.traders-mag.com).

The article was written by the head of the company that developed the software. The problem is I could not figure out what the NN part of the software does and no examples were offered other than a general discussion.

I'm also interested in it but before I part with a respectable sum of m oney I need to talk to some people who use this program and find out whether it really works. Were you able to find anyone?

Hi,
I narrowed it down to three systems really before making a choice. They were Trade Decision, MTPredictor and Automatic Pattern Search. I liked the idea of the no time lag for the latter and bought that one. It is early days trying to get to understand it but it looks promising.
I already have Metastock and decided against another charting system, even with NN. I have a NN system and it wasn't too good, so it got binned.
good luck
Pat

just out of curiosity pat494, are you able to say what nn softare you used?

I tried Biocomp's NN system. It looked great and had so many bells and whistles ( different input features ) that it took me a long time to work out it wasn't up to much. By that time I had also purchased their Dakota offering too......... again same story. Pity but wasted time and money.

Ah yes Pat494, I understand your pain in this. I too have recently purchased these programs. Learning how to use these properly is like learning ALL of the rules to trading all over again! It is a long aqnd lonely process. What makes it worse that if spend anymore time on my PC wife wife will probably divorce me!! I don't thing it's all wasted. I guess it's like learning how to drive a Lamborgini in 5 minutes!

Any decision on the best software out there? I dont mind paying for it but I"m tired of waiting for the money back to my account. I just tried advanced get and it became return get. I get as much from freestocks.com

Glad to see my old thread being resurrected from the dead !
Same old problem and its not really solved even yet ( by me ).
These days I use the charts of the SB, 2 eyeballs and past-by-use date brain - net result not much

Hi,can i just ask what it is your looking for out of a piece of software.
As like charts software only tells you what has happened in the past, the same as charts and you can get them for free.
spend your time learning to read a chart and save your money to trade with as they will both tell you the same thing,
It takes time to see enything at first but it will come to you.
Draw momentom lines on it and there you will see the direction, then a support and resistance and then you will see the range.
Like enything, you buy it low and sell it high.
KEEP IT SIMPLE.
Its only when you play the markets by the day hour or minutes that you really need to have tick charts and alike at your disposal.
Tis then it gets technical.
I have a great book produced by Peter Hall. called Financial Training systems Ltd
Charting and technical analysis,if you ever get the chance of getting one then snap it up you will never need another book on playing the markets ever again.
I have read it over and over and over again and still i find stuff to help me trade better and wiser.
If my house was on fire and i could only grab one item that would be it.
So if your still looking for a system thats the one, it won't tell you when to buy or sell but it will show you how to workout for yourself when to buy or sell.
Hope it helps.

I guess I am expecting too much to expect the answer to drop in my lap:)

Are these guys still alive?During my study in England ,I went to Somerset for his 3 day course in 1999.

It was about traded options(basics) an TA course. It was informative and country side was beautiful. You can obtain similar info from the web nowadays.

I am also planning to purchase a trading software but cannot figure out what are their strengths and weakness ? Using them may be a long process I guess . How effective will it be can any one help with this issue.

FWIW I have spent much too much on software packages that promised huge returns.

Now I realize that 1 brain and 2 eyes + a charting package is all one needs
