Evening all...

Trust all are well...Wanted to introduce myself as i will be posting here on a daily basis and will be discussing usdchf, eurusd, gbpusd, usdjpy, gold and oil.

Hopefully i can give u a good insight into how i trade and how i make my pips.

I will be discussing money management a lot, as so many traders fail in this area.

I will be looking at these markets at around 6.45am and will post a few words of wisdom and will be posting a few ideas when and where i see them...I made 180 ish pips to day so a happy weekend ahead...

I do not trade all the time and probably max 3 hours per morning. My average pips each day (depending on market conditions) is around 50 -100 pips and has been for a while now.

I do this full time for a living, after a career in banking and left london to live in the sun 6 months ago.

I do hope i get some good characters on this thread and hopefully have a little fun.

I will try and answer questions as quickly as possible but please take it easy, as i refuse to look at charts all day...

Speak to you on monday.

Hi D.

Welcome to T2W.

Silly question, but were you a trader for the banks you worked for?

Hello danarm,

It says you are from Twickenham. That's my home town...

Good job on starting a journal. I will be interested to read your thoughts and analysis.

All the best.

Hi

Yes i did the usual Uni, Grad Scheme and straight onto Cash desk...Moved around room in 1st year, then currency options desk asked me to join them. Did this for a few years then got bored of London and went to HK. Great fun..Worked hard and played hard!!!

Realised then that it was silly to work 20 hours a day, when I could work 3 hours a day from home and actually see my lovely wife and litle girl.

Anyway thats my life story...hahaha.

Beautiful day here so dont know why i got up and looked at my PC on a sat morning. Must get a life!!!

Off for a run...

I am sure you will get plenty,
Look forward to a ex-desk trader adding his views and opinions.

Hi Danarm

Hi Danarm

What a sad state of affairs not to have any friends! Looks like you are making a few now and just so you don't feel lonely I have added you to my friends list.

It is always good to hear the wisdom of a professional trader so I will watch out for your posts. I am always interested in reading about money management strategies so am keen to hear what you have to say on that much talked about subject.

I'm a big rugby fan too, especially NZ rugby - they have by far the nicest legs and play a pretty mean game too.

I can't believe I have been registered here for 4 years and this is my first post! It's not like me to keep quiet for that long.

Happy trading.

 I really hope this is a female poster.

:) Hi Options - yes definitely 100% girlie!

Phew! I guess the bit about keeping quiet for 4 years gave it away... A bloke could do it easy. :whistling

Welcome anyway.

Mmmm, that doesn't look right.

Start again!..
Welcome to the site. Why has it taken you 4 years to post anything?

Hi Options

, a bloke keeping quiet for 4 years. More impossible than a girlie I think!

Thanks for the welcome. Um, not sure why it has taken 4 years to post anything but thought it would be worthwhile here - pick the brains of a pro trader who likes rugby AND says nice things about his wife. Sounds ok to me (plus I wanted to try out the Smilies :medieval: they've got some good ones here).

Ahh glad a few rugby supporters are on this thread.

Saw the kiwi's beat thse Aussies for the Tri Nations.

Can't wait for the Autumn Internationals.

See u all tom am.

i love the title of your thread, and couldn't agree more. it's all about the pips.
congratulations on trading full-time. i will be watching your thread :)

Morning all

Crude is still in free fall with a break below $100. This trend will continue lower until the 60min 20ma finds support (like eurusd on friday).

The 4hr 20ma is key here and 1 of my golden rules is always to trade with this. If my candles are below the 4hr 20ma then stay short, likewise if above then look for long trades. (Yes this can be broken with very short term plays on 5min against the trend but be careful).

Gold is finding resistance at the 4hr 50ma and could fall back to 60min 20ma. The 84 CCI has crosses positively so keep an eye here... Crude will pull this around so we need to be aware of this.

EURUSD and CABLE have retraced well with USD weakness but the Daily 20ma (480) will show a small amount of resistance here. I would like to see a pullback on both back to the Daily pivot or 4Hr 20ma.

USDJPY looks very weak on the Daily and Asian market has pushed this lower overnight. Look for retracement 1st back to 4Hr 20ma. Remember 2nd golden rule.. Do not sell after lots of red.
USDCHF in a similar state...

Ok so for USD weakness to really come into play we need to find support on the Crude. Be patient here as this is not showing the picture today. Gold found support but looks like it will pullback to 4hr 20ma. Be patient the direction of the USD will come...

Enjoy

Really want to see a small pullback on GOLD. The major resistance is the 4HR 50ma at 785.00. This will be teh break point!!

If we get the pullback, the USD will strengthen this am but i will be looking for GOLD to break this 785.00 level.

This is the box strategy. Eg let it retrace to the 4HR 20ma then move higher and break.
