Hello, let me explain a little of what i am trying to do. *I am trading end of day off daily charts. *I am looking for an indicator (or set of) to use their values as a percent of my portfolio to have invested. *For example, take the RSI. *At the end of day lets say it has a value of 55. Then i would want to have 55 percent of my portfolio invested at that time.

What i am trying to do is risk management, money management. *So when the market is trending higher i am more invested and when it is lower i would have less invested. *I am trading in a 401k account and do have the ability to short, although I am mostly interested in a long only strategy but if anyone has any ideas i am not too opposed to going short if the system calls for it. *This is kinda like im just rebalancing everyday according to a risk model.

Anyways, i have looked at RSI, stochastics, Williams %r, but what i have been focusing on lately is the MACD histogram and the percentage of the current bar close vs. The highest or lowest bar of the cycle. *I cam clarify that for anyone if they need any further explanation.

So i am just trying to open a discussion to see if my ideas might be of any value or if anyone can help me out. *Or if i should just put my money in every two weeks and let it set. *By the way, i am looking to trade an index fund only and focus on just one as i believe they are diversified enough. Probably the Russell 2000 but just about any would do i suppose. *Thanks for your help!!

Have a look at Directional movement index (ADX and DMI+/-) might be more suited to what i understand your goal to be...
