Just dnlded and installed version 3. Lots of little user improvements. I think it's better. :)

have you upgraded to FF 3.0.1??

That's what I've just installed - should have been more specific!

I normally wait for automatic download but i read somwhre that ver 3 has some goood advantages for bookmarks and tabs. Best bit so far is that when re-opening, it offers to re-establish your last tab setup which i find v useful.

I hope also that the hackers and low-life are concentrating their efforts on IE & leaving me alone.

On behalf of web developers everywhere, thankyou! Keeping the browser pool diverse means less pressure for us to code to bugs in IE, rather than to the spec.

Seen the new bookmark system? With the little star in the address bar. Love it, personally, although about half the planet seems to hate it :(

FWIW I think it's a great feature .. less clicks to bookmark a page . who cares if it initially gets dropped into the main bookmarks folder . the search bookmarks function makes it easy enough to find again.

I'm running FF3 on Linux and I must say it is a significant improvement. The whole UI is faster, page rendering is faster and some "problem" pages now render much better. Also better desktop integration with KDE.

It's a significant improvement performance wise. I'd given up on FF in favour of Opera; now it's in the same ballpark. Despite the build up there's nothing which really grabs attention though compared to Opera.

You can just double click and it'll give you a little pop up window to organise it straight away. Very nice imo.

Just downloaded FF 3.0.1 and having a small problem. When I click to open a new window it opens up with 10 tabs showing pages I visited ages ago on FF2. I've cleared the history to no avail and can't seem to find the problem on the help pages. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

Are you asking it to restore your previous session when you start firefox?

No. Its already set to do that. Its when I'm on a session and just want to open up a new window. The new window opens up 10 tabs of pages I browsed months ago, and its always the same pages.

I should add that it's ok when I click on a link to open that link in a new window, it's just that it wont open a single blank tab in a new window as it did in FF2.

So when you start firefox for the first time it's fine but when you open a second window it opens crap loads of tabs?

:edit: When I set mine to open the previous session on start up I can start firefox a second time and it opens on my homepage. Perhaps there's something wrong with the way you've set your homepage, or you don't have one set?

I was asked to inshtall FF3 yeshterday after running a certain website, the message suggested FF3 would run the website with greater functionality. Can't recall the website, but thats irrelevent really.

Anyway, FF3 seems fine.

Yes to the first part and the homepage seems ok.
