Elite Trader really has some mean people on it.

Hi guys, my name is Jay and I really hope T2W has a much more friendlier and easy going community than those mean people over at Elite Trader. Have any of you experienced the amount of flaming going on at that board? It really scares me.. Anyway, all I can say is I hope I'm in good hands.

Thank you!

Welcome. Did you actually learn anything over on ET between the flames?

Ehh... Kind of.. Spydertrader's Futures Journal was pretty helpful. Other than that, not really, no.. I did get some good resource sites for the euro, crude oil, and stuff like that.

There have been cases of flaming on here but then those involved get banned and so it doesn't last long.

Good, because I do not want to be a victim of any flaming. I think it's childish and does not deserve to be on a message board of intelligent people. Anywho, I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else?

BnB,

There are a minority on ET whose disposition and expertise generates respect. Unfortunately, there are many who would consider Beavis and Butthead heavyweight intellectuals (and therefore, fags). However, I suspect these are teenagers masquerading as adults (their language betrays them).

We don’t have ‘em, here thank fcku.

Grant.

We also don't have people around here for long if they are trying to flog 'systems' etc to the majority of people.

ET has some trading gems on it but you have to filter through truckloads of trolling before you find the real diamond quality content.

The "signal to noise ratio" on T2W is much higher

I have to agree, there is some really good and solid trading chat on ET, but the down side is it can be a very vicious environment to be in at times.

It's a good site, just avoid the cross-fire.

I hear you. Someone told me that there was a huge discussion about automated stock trading and basically everything the board members were wishing for in a dream automated trading system already exists. But when the person mentioned CoolTrade's fully automated trading system and explained that it already exists, people started pounding on him, as if he was trying to sell them something.

The CoolTrade founder and a bunch of Elite Trader users already using CoolTrade eventually piped in and squelched the nay-sayers.

I'm amazed that people fully accept the fact that large institutions are using program trading to compete with the public, but have such a hard time accepting the fact that CoolTrade is giving such power to the individuals.

More and more are catching on though.

Enlightened

I found that ET definately has a different "tone" to it. I'd say that the general tone on ET is somewhat dryer than T2W.
I've not posted much on ET, and nothing for maybe a year.

The layout of ET - dark green, black etc. may not help & looks somewhat dull & potentially depressing :?: . Whereas T2W looks nice & bright at least, therefore pyschologically, this could help form the general tone that is set on the website  .

ET is also more difficult to navigate through than T2W & FF.

On ET, there also seemed to be fewer active members, so threads tended to get fewer replies etc.

Since the relaunch, T2W is definately the best website out of the three, IMO.

I agree, JTrader..

Hey, where can I learn more about Cool trader's system? I'm actually looking for some kind of automated system that works with TradeStation for futures..

T2W definitely looks nicer, but I don't think this plays a role. The truth is that it's moderation policy on ET to allow harsher language, and to ban people only after some complains.
What's FF by the way?

Elite Trader is something of an ironic title, lost on most of the mental midgets frequenting the boards.

It is a great place to realize just how destructive an ego can be for a trader.

If you've taken offense, you've probably a degree of humility, which is essential to be successful.

The Beavis and Butthead of Trading.,, err huh, huh, huuh.

I popped over there today and its very american. God bless em.

No offence E.T. but not of this planet is apt.. In the land of freedom and speech , I guess anything goes, huh.

yeah, yeah, "hey Beavis did you say go schlong the market here?"

er, huh, huh, ... huh, huh, huh, er, yeah Butthead, drop your shorts and get your schlong in position, huh, huh, huh..

"hey butthead, thats really neat, cool, heh, he, he, I can really feel your SIZE, heh .hehe. hehe.."

Thank you america.

Seriously I think the site is hard to work with, Ads prominent, discussion topics you have to filter through. And more Bung holes, than B & B doing Amerika.

Crap Bhuddist,

Ain't that the truth?

One thread actually developed into two participants arranging to meet in New York for a street fight. Honest.

Despite my criticisms, if I have (what appears to me) a technical question, I will get more responses, and sooner, from ET.

If you want to know the killing range of a .38 Magnum, the recoil of an Uzi, rounds-per-minute of an AK-47, ET is the place. Too many John Wayne films.

I use both boards and have noticed that newbies on ET actually get treated well unless they display behavioural characteristics that would get them in trouble in primary school, pretend to be experienced (while displaying their newness by their bad advice) or choose to participate in one of the big political arguments (jack is good, trends don't work, technical analysis is a crock).

So, OP, who were you on ET?

I looked your posts up here and after a few whinges about your treatment on ET you started a thread about how good your going to be and then another about your philosophy.

Hi, this quote was handwritten by me to share with you all. Please read it carefully.

"What we think defines who we are. Who we are should soley focus on our own inherent abilities to think individually with a knowledge we choose to learn for ourselves. There should be no outside influence on our journey to discover this knowledge that we seek that will in turn change our ways of thought. Once you find this knowledge you most relate to, you will then be able to shape your new form of thinking. This is where life begins.."

-The Bull n' Bear Philosophy

Who were you on ET? I'd like to get an idea of how you managed to create scars for yourself so quickly (one of my philosophies is to take personal responsibility for my results).

JTrader said that ET was harder to navigate ... personally I think that comes down to what you are used to and I like SierraChart while others like Ensign for the same reason. What is FF?

I agree with andread that T2W looks nicer but its still slower to display ... not sure if thats a cost of the eye candy or the underlying bulletin board technology. The improvements to T2W were great ... but its still slower down here (on my 15Mbps connection).

I rarely agree with anything crap Buddhist posts but I wonder if thats the offensive nature of his nick influencing me. Once again ... there is no advert issue on ET if you use Mozilla Firefox. It removes all the adverts beautifully with no page distortion (like the IE ad removers) so I have crisp clear ad free pages on T2W and ET.

I remember the fight thread grantx ... it revealed more than anything I've recently seen on the internet. One guy was a completed idiot (IMHO :)) and was finally called out by another poster who said "meet me in NY and lets talk it out or fight or whatever ... but lets do it as REAL PEOPLE." The idiot refused saying "if I come then I'll just end up in jail for assaulting you like my little brother" (or something very similar). This was both great entertainment and very revealing about the original poster.

Personally I like both boards. You do get answers much faster on ET and you can find out more about Uzi's as well. But T2W retains that beautiful civilized veneer of the British Empire. Bottoms up boys. :)

I would say it's lucky for you that trading went electronic as if you are scared by some 'flaming' by some anonymous poster you would have struggled in the pits where flaming had a whole different meaning.

As for people saying that E-T has this negative influence, what's wrong with people being passionate about something? It's better than hearing the same posters post their so-called 'expert' opinion about anything and everything.Honestly, the amount of posts some members make it makes you wonder where they find the time to actually do any trades, that is if they're even traders in the first place?

Howdy, the nick crap buddist, no h :) I hope doesn't offend too many. Im sure buddhists would chip in and see the funny side. And its this, learn to live a live without hope. BUT. its representative of common mans struggle to find their balance, the knowing of sometimes needing to change and struggling to deliver.

It is in that spirit that all mankind at some point are crap buddists.

be peaceful, yes, so we smash peoples faces in. crap buddist .

Be honest, yes, so we lie, crap buddists

be faithful , yes, so we prod our neighbours wife, crap buddists.

truthful politicians, yes, insert any scandal you like, crap buddists.

mankinds struggle to better themselves. :)

peace.

offensive? I just think its honest. Cheers.
