Any Integrity Left In T2W?

I used to think that there were some sharp mods in the world of T2W - but they now almost seem a ridiculous bunch [who were only trying to make a dishonest living!] compared to our dashriprock. Some typical comments from a blog I was reading: http://www.trade2win.com/boards/foyer/130322-what-did-he-do-time.html

"What has happened to our T2W? Corruption in its forums (only the mods and the scammers seem to be immune), the letching of t!ts & @ss, unrestricted scamsters, a bloated underclass, confiscatory posts, ubiquitous jobsworths, venal elected and non-elected officials, an upstanding member that has abandoned the boards and seeks to destroy his schlong, mod editors who appear to consort with idiots..........".

There are a handful of member with integrity, but they are fighting a losing battle.

The dumbing down started a couple of years ago, and they've achieved what they set out to do (not that I'm complaining, conssequentially the lulz has improved exponentially)

Anyone remember when Trader_Dante has his tinfoil hat moment?

I reckon it started around that time but I was more of an ar53hole then so maybe not.

Maybe there was something to it.

The masters of misinformation mass ranks

Complain as you see fit. I can assure you I will not lose any sleep over the holiday banning of dash or anyone else who wishes to abuse their posting privileges. Not only did said poster receive ample friendly advice and warnings, he then proceeded to escalate matters. In fact, a former member who transgressed along the same lines was banned permanently and that will be the fate of dash and others should they persist.

I'm not complaining. More people who get banned deserve it. Come to think of it I can only think of one unjustified banning in my T2W history. (!)

What did he do anyway?

Thankless job being a mod. It's not difficult to see that certain members delight in getting themselves banned and then watch the pot boil over. The real shame is they often do have valuable insights.

Fighting a losing battle against whom? It's members who do the dumbing down despite the best efforts of mods to keep it in bounds. If anyone really wants to look at graphic porn then there's plenty of other sites out there. And if anyone wants to post such stuff on here then don't expect not to have an extended or permanent holiday from T2W.

Much as I respect the opinions of some of the members who have posted on this thread, I have to say that this place is OK. It's just a forum after all, and it's not a bad one.

The Hare makes a lot of valid points, I enjoy his contributions and think that this forum would be a lot poorer without them. At the same time, I also think that CV and Jon do a fine job.

There's loads of good content on here and it really doesn't take much effort to find it, just time and a little thought. As for the rest, well it's good fun and so on, and the characters are important as they keep people coming back and sometimes post things of great worth.

If Dash gets banned that's a great shame, but in the end it will be his decision. There's a great deal of leeway given, and discretion applied, but the limit is reached eventually. I honestly don't know why I wasn't canned a long time ago, although I'm grateful I haven't been. But I certainly don't think anyone can complain about heavy-handed moderation, it takes a lot for an established member to get himself a permanent ban.

There are legitimate complaints and improvements that could be made. But I think that these faults have little to do with the moderators and that this forum is actually quite fortunate to have moderators like CV and Barjon.

Okay I make this post having had 'a few beers' anyways....

I love this site... you're my best friend, I really love you man. I mean.... you make me happy and yeah sometimes you talk a load of sh*t but it always makes me smile, and yeah I know I've learnt so much from you too, but also I've learnt that most of what you say you have to take with a pinch of salt cos at the end of the day trading is totally subjective. I have however had many laughs along the way and will continue to do so... so don't stop what you're doing old friend..... chin chin

I definitely don't want to offend anyone here, but this site is called trade to win and that is what I have always intended to do. I have 2 threads here and read other threads that are related to trading. Sometimes I do stop by unrelated threads and get a chuckle, but I am always looking to improve my trading by learning from another more experienced trader's post, or trying to help a less experienced trader find their way to profit. That is what this site was created for and I am grateful that it is here........................

Good Trading Everyone,
Dave

In my experience (you being the exception barjon) all the other mods were/are demagogues.

 Members beating down the doors to become mods and still are of course, I mean, the queue's go twice around the block at least.

No, the reality of the so called modern world (T2W being a microcosm ) is this. It is inhabited by the most selfish thinking and acting individuals that ever walked. They certainly don't put others first and you would never find them helping out. Instead they sit on the sidelines and snipe / scoff at others efforts. Just the way it is.

To some extent I suppose we can excuse these traits in a trader as they are probably necessary in order to be successful.

Why do successful traders want to help others to achieve the same thing? Serious question.

It's human nature to want to help people in all aspects of life. The level of help varies depending on the situation or area of need. To some people helping means being on t2w and answering an occasional serious question, to others it may be to mentor a beginner. We are programmed to assist others in their time of need whether it's an accident or injury or a beginning trader struggling to find his way.

I've publically made the offer previously and I'll make it again. I'll be a mod if it allows me to delete my posts

The whole premise of people helping others to become traders is rather bizarre. Most advice that's handed out probably does more harm than good. Its just not possible to give out generic advice, and its almost impossible to give out specific advice unless you know every tiny detail of how someone is trading, and why the take the actions they take. Even then someone really isnt likely to change their behaviour. Thats the fascinating thing about trading, what works in one context, completely fails in another, and it really is about understanding the synergistic effects of multiple components and how they interact.

T2W is capitalising on the fact that a bunch of people have an interest in a particular area, and enjoy interacting with likeminded individuals. There's nothing wrong with that, but thats all it is.

Its a bit hypocritical really for a T2W moderator or staff member to acuse others of being selfish. T2W encourages the clueless to take risk, they accept advertising from some of the most unscrupulous operators on the planet, they exploit IB opportunites, and generally juice their members for all they can. Thats OK, that's what any business does, but its hypocrical to take the high moral ground.

Good post. People would save themselves a lot of money and heartache if they could grasp these points.
