Unban Socco!

I assume Albert is happy with his new "friends" on citybulls - assuming that still exists. Does it?
I suppose the opportunities for lulz would increase exponentially if he returned, though that might mean all the other banned members would too. Silly me, most of them are here already under multi-nicks. Maybe Albert is as well.
I suspect their return would be a tsunami and do similar damage to an already weakened t2w.

Lulz is tricky to combat, especially when the members who delight in it the most are often the most active ones, the longest standing and, in a few cases, very good traders as well.

With regards to Socco's return, the subject was on the agenda at the T2W Chrismas knees up. The idea of a general amnesty was discussed but, as I recall, it was abandoned - mainly for the reasons that Richard outlines in his post.

I don't see why the ammnesty couldn't be tried... then swiftly reversed if it went wrong

Hi n_t,
I forget the precise reasons (maybe C_V remembers?), but I think it was felt that it would create more problems than it would solve. Great for the post count and Google rankings etc., not so great for the stress levels of Mods and staff.

PS - I'm referring to a general amnesty for all members - rather than a targeted one for specific members such as SOCRATES.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. The subject of this thread is 'unban SOCRATES (Socco)'. You then say the subject was discussed but abandoned. Can you be more specific about what exactly the 'subject' was? ie/ Was the subject SOCRATES and allowing only SOCRATES back or a general amnsesty where ALL banned members are allowed back?

Please remember the context - it was the T2W Christmas lunch and the subject was discussed late on. Given that the lovely young Brazilian waitress was very attentive at filling up empty wine glasses, the details are all a bit of a blur! The idea of allowing back banned members came up and, obviously, in that context, Socco was mentioned along with Wasp. Whether the idea of a general amnesty for all banned members was raised at the beginning or end of the conversation - I really couldn't say. Anyway, all this is immaterial. As things stand currently, banned members will remain banned.

What is it with all this talk of banning unbanning. Just for the record the current bunch of mods had nothing whatsoever to do with the banning of Socco. Is that clear ? Furthermore, I expect Socco has no interest in coming back even if he was unbanned, why would he even show face after the last debacle (plain vanilla options) indeed ! Well the less said about that the better !

Are you some kind of sadist or what? You know very well that even if Socco or others were given an amnesty....it would'nt take them long before they put themselves in a position where they would have to be banned all over again. Oh and lest we forget, you have been in the banned club a number of times.
