NYSE Daily Average Volume Data?

Does anybody know where I could get the NYSE Daily Average Volume

I use Interactive Brokers.. so if anyone knows anything on there

The reason I'm asking cause it seems that during the past week big investors have not been buying with the good earnings news so far; and it seems (as per WSJ) the volume has been below the daily average volume.

So I was wondering if I could find that data and try to figure out if Long Term buyers are actually coming in the markets or is this just a predom a traders mkt right now.

As for an average daily volume, that will vary depending on the type of average calculated and the number of days used! I recommend playing around with one of the free EoD charting packages which will enable you to set the parameters you want. If you look at the major indices, you'll get a reasonable idea of what volume is doing across the board.

The symbol is $NYSE, or $NYA, it will have the chart of the daily volume and the volume of the last trading day. To get the previous days, select Daily, and the next box select the range and you can use the volume for the ending date.

The volume shown on the chart is: 4,271 MM
