Hi folks,

I'm an investor who lives in the U.S. All that i've ever dabbled in, aside from a few ADR/ADS stocks and international ETFs, has been U.S. equities.

I've been lead to believe that it's more or less impossible for me to invest in single stocks residing in foreign markets unless they have ADR/ADS counterparts in the U.S. I'm in the habit of doing fairly frequent trading as often as one week in U.S. stocks, and i'd like to extend that to international stocks as well. I figure that if inefficiencies exist in the U.S. capital market, and they apparently do, they surely must also exist in foreign markets as well (and perhaps in greater frequency!)

On to my question, though. I've occassionally seen people living in the U.K. hint that they perhaps trade U.S. equities on a regular basis. As an individual U.S. investor, is it in any way possible for me to buy and sell stocks in foreign markets (such as U.K.'s or China's) on a regular basis in the same way that UK and Chinese investors can, without too much hardship and expense? If so, how would I go about doing this, and would there be any special considerations to take into account if I did?
