Orders to open IGIndex

Hi all, just looking for some help. Im having trouble with the ORDER TO OPEN ticket on IGindex.

Basically I want to open orders at the opening price no matter what it opens at. Today futures were down before open, so wanted to go short on banks, but my order didnt open because it opened lower than what I thought it would.

I don't know how to fill the ticket in which would allow me to go long or short whatever the opening price, so if anyone who uses IG could explain, or even fill out a long and short ticket, cut and copy it to me I would be most grateful.... I really would..

I called IG but still couldnt get to grips with it; all they basically said was call just prior to opening and fill out request then, but by that time, the price had already jumped to the high/low position (today a good 4 points!!!)

if you want to "open orders at the opening price no matter what it opens at" you have to open a "deal ticket" to deal at the current market price.

Attached is a screenprint of the ticket you need to complete to deal at the market quote.

So when your spread betting (igindex) is the price, buy or sell, the price you fill in the deal ticket??? so say in the morning before market opens, the price to buy is 100, i should put 100 in the price box and it should trigger when the market opens?

I shall try tomorrow and return my verdict

That's the price right now in the deal ticket, not the open price. I can't see how you can tell it to open at the open price.
