I just noticed for the 3rd time that the price heads towards my stop value, hits it exactly, not one decimal point more, then heads back in the opposite direction.

Paranoid? SB company being naughty? They can't be doing it just for £5 can they? Maybe they've fallen on hard times.

Not all SB brokers are bad

In my latest trade (which I am also in at £5) the market has come within 1 tick (literally) of my stop on three seperate days and not taken me out.

Also, I once got STOPPED OUT on a brief spike (that did ACTUALLY happen) then the trade went back my way and they put me BACK IN so I could PROFIT from it.

I have to say that not all SB brokers are out to get you and it is important to note their good points as well as their bad.

FWIW - I think you are being paranoid.:|

If you are using any sort of resistance/support level or previous swing lows/highs as your stops then you are probably sharing the same stops with hundreds of other traders. So naturally the market (& SBs) will also know what your stops are and cunning traders will try to profit from them knowing once they are hit there is likely to be a pullback.

In that case, I feel better. Thinking they are out to get me and finding out they really are out to get me is slightly worse than thinking they are out to get me and being wrong. :cheesy:

Ah, yes, didn't zoom out. It was indeed an S/R level.

Emergency over, as you were, gents.

If you're worried I recommend trying a demo platform with a differant feed and comparing that with your SB company. I use an InterbankFX demo (MT4) and have found them to (usually) be within a couple of pips of Capital Spreads prices.

I,m with CMC god help me!!,if you think anyd spread bet company is honest and won,t take out your stops,mis-quote,change prices immediately after you buy/sell to stop you skimming, these guys are your biggest enemy no doubt

Trying to tell you something perhaps

Good post and good observation IMO shadowninja, would"nt be a bad entry would it :?::idea: You one of those guys/girls that like to get to the party early :?:

The market makes many Highs and many Lows in a day but only one True high and one True Low

Have a good New Year all:clover:

You have to know the stocks that you trade really well and try your best to avoid this problem. Two of the instruments which does what you said very frequently, are the DOW & ASX200 after HOURS with CMC. Just watch them for a few days and you will see what I mean!

Oh just to my stop - eh?

Shodow ninja - Have experienced exactly the same - either they price to hit stops or, or maybe my stops control of the financial markets (which i think might be a bit of a fantasy)

i would let you know where my stops are going to be tomorrow - but it may change future - so I'll have to decline this time.
