Seems that Worldspreads is offering 1pt spreads on major indices. Hopefully, this will mean the rest will have to follow.

It be true, spoke with them last night to question them on it. All major indices will be on 1 point spreads during market open hours as of next week, as well as the same on some FX pairs.

That'll be good news. I wonder how long they can offer it for. I just wish they took market orders for all markets and accepted any size stakes.

I am dying for a well rounded spread betting firms but there does not seem to be any forth-coming. IMO such a firm would get a whole lot of new customers and would probably make enough money on spreads alone without having to skew prices or doing other tricks and I can's understand why there is not one already.

Good trading,

Hung

Hi Hung,

Take a look at TwoWayFutures.co.uk - they back to back with exchanges through Gibraltar - means that you pay the market Futures spread plus some comm - on the dax ends up being 0.5 point spread +0.168 each way, so good value. The back to back means its in a tax free wrapper.
Only downside is that they use exchange margin rates, therefore want a min £5K.
They use a ffastfill dealing screen, which are a well known company, means deal at exact market prices.

Thanks very much. But the £5k minimum disqualifies me already :) It's good to know though.

Good trading,

Hung

this is very good , but only if this is permanent & if the platform is not a clunky affair. is there a trial option for your trading platform ?
Jay

The platform is good. At least it's good enough for me. Simple and fast. But I don't rely on them for charts and other things. All I need is execution and they deliver.

But I also noticed that their quotes on the phone can be a bit different from their quotes on their site. I once phoned them up while looking at the screen and was quoted a slightly different price.

Having said that, I have no other choice if I want to access a SB firm from work. CMC and Fins' platform simply do not work for me. And i've heard it's now CS's turn to cause problems to people behind firewalls.

cheers,

Hung

And my experience has been with share and index trading. Haven't tried anything else there.

It also appears to be on the rolling future and not the cash!!!

I open an account with worldspreads yesterday and funded money today. I started off with 5 pound a point to see what the platform was like, anyway I can report to you there was no problems with execution, In fact the fills where quick, I can't fault them, the platform looks very similar to C/S but worldspreads execution is much much quicker. and with only 1 pip spreads, they even offer 1 pip spread on Dow :D

I made £700 quid profit today with no probs I will keep you informed how I get along with them........... Keep it up worldspreads you got my vote... ;)
mmmmm

I just had a look at Worldspreads.
On the indices page they seem to be offering:-
Wall St daily 6 points
Nasdaq 2 points
S&P fut daily 1 point
Pretty standard is it not ? Or are there special rates or something ?

They are offering 1 point spreads. It would appear it's not on the cash markets though, but only on the daily futures markets, including FTSE and Dow. They're also offering 1 pip spreads on the main currency pairs, but they do only seem to be offering those spreads on the currencies during UK day time trading, as the USDEUR is currently the standard 3 points as I speak now, for which Caps actually betters on the Euro as it is currently 2 pips. I have deposited a small amount in an account that I opened last week and intend to trade the Dow on 1 pip and some of the US currency pairs on 1 pip. If I have any issues then I'll report back!

won £700
you don`t work for world spreads do you???
It does look that way but I can assure you, I don't work for them, send me your email and I show my statement for today's trades.

Does anyone know the exact hours the 1 pip spread applies as I was not watching all day.

I noticed that before 8am only the Yen was 1 pip the others were 3, then they changed to 1 pip around 8am.

Late in the afternoon, around 5:20pm they were all 3 pips again but I missed the exact time that the 1 pip discontinued.
