WANTED: PAUL TUDOR JONES 1987 VIDEO!! "TRADER: The Documentary"

It so happens that I have one, though I'm not sure I want to give it up. Maybe.

Can I ask why the urgent interest?

Its not really an urgent request. A few !!! always helps get people a little fired up! I have always like Pauls style of trading. How long have you had your copy of "Trader". A commodities broker that Ive done some business with has a copy. He told me if I cant get a copy he'll lend me his. Id like to have my own.

I honestly can't remember when I got the video, but it was definitely a quite a while ago. I've got to figure at least a decade. At this point I'm inclined to keep it, at least until I can get it copied over to DVD from the VHS.

I dont think its that difficult to transfer VHS to DVD...but Im not real sure. If you get something figured out let me know.

I bought a machine that does that the other day...transfers from DVD to VHS and visa versa. Pretty cool.

When is someone going to put this up on youtube?

There are some minor clips at:

But no has posted the whole thing on the internet.

Well, it's copyright material, so doing that would be illegal. It's an hour long, so that makes for a big file, as well as beyond YouTube's time limit. And all of that requires getting it into a clean digital format as it's original is VHS.

The thought had occured to me to set up some kind of streaming viewing, though. I mean I need to get the video tape converted to DVD, but once that's done it should be doable to run something on a streaming basis. That probably violates the retransmission part of the copyright, though.

Oh, and we couldn't let Tudor Jones find out about it. Word is he's out to get all copies off the street. :p

Since when has anyone worried about copyright on You Tube. It's a haven for moody copies of everything from movies (split in to parts) to Columbo, to NWA Music videos that had been consigned to the dustbin (some may argue where they belong) by MTV and the like more than a decade ago !

Is anyone selling this thing on DVD? It looks pretty interesting just from the psychology of a successful trader perspective. He looks very upset after losing 5%, as any professional competitor would be. I'd buy it at a decent price.

If you find one on DVD it's almost certainly a bootleg copy as the original was produced in VHS format, pre-DVD.
