Im a sydney based trader looking to interact with any aussie traders who may be trading the US index(S&P in particular). I trade through Traders International and would like to converse with any interested successful traders who are also TI members or who trade independently using there own methods.

G'day E-Mini... greetings from the other side of this great country! (y)

I'm trading the E-Mini S&P independently (using IB). As coincidence would have it, I watched a webinar from Traders International only 2 days ago. Their approach looks interesting... it would be good to discuss it with you.

Traded a narrow channel on the September 08 E-Mini S&P tonight for about 2 hours and came away with just $74 profit (I was only trading 1-lot tonight)... oh well, not too bad considering I was trading whilst relaxing & watching TV with my Wife!

Also trading the SPI, usually on the open - 07:30-08:00 (Perth time).

What else are you trading?

Catchya, Preach.

Hi preacher sounds good.I only trade the S&P 500 at the moment but follow the Russell2000 also. I do not trade it though. My approach is only good setups off support and resistance and I also trade fib retracements.I dont trade breakouts or news or anything else as I have only been trading for 18 months and want to trade 1 market at a time. I dont trade any other methods apart from TI but I am always open to other traders thoughts and opinions re. the eminis. You said you trade the SPI also which is interesting. Have you had success trading this? Are you a consistantly profitable trader? It makes no difference to me I just like hearing from fellow aussie traders and conversing about the markets.

Until next time,

Hi emini,

I trade the S&P 500 emini from Sydney. Not using the TI method though. My method involves scalping(I use the term loosely since there seems to be so much disagreement over what exactly that is) with momentum for a point at a time. I only trade the opening hour at the moment.

Cheers,
PKFFW

Very wise... preservation of capital is just as important (maybe more important) than chasing the big wins.

Hmmm... consistently profitable, yes... but only until I'm consistently profitable, at which time I become consistently over-confident and end up consistently kicking myself! :whistling

G'day PKFFW. Only the opening hour... is this part of a strategy (based on volume etc), or is it because the opening hour is late enough at night being on the east coast?

G'day Preach,

It's a bit of both really.

Mostly because my method works best with the volatility and volume that comes with the open. Never really achieved much success in the afternoons.

Also, like you say, because the opening hour currently puts my knock off time at 0030hrs. When day light savings switches over again that will be more like 0230hrs in the morning since we will go forward an hour and the US will go back an hour! Not looking foward to that! Might have to go to bed for a couple of hours and then get up again at 0100hrs to get ready for market open and then trade and then go back to bed. How annoying. Or just trade only when I'm at work on night shift! hehehe Get paid to trade, that'd be nice.

Cheers,
PKFFW

Now you're talking my language!! :cheesy:

Yeah, the time difference is a bit of a bind... not quite so bad here on the West coast, but a couple of hours earlier would be good. Maybe if we ask them nicely they'll open earlier..?

Love the S&P

Ripper.. hilarious.

London based, am using CFD's to trade the S&P 500 Index, plus the odd stock or gold trade. I pretty much only track the US markets having lived in North America for many years. No system as such, just my own mix of following the news a lot (addicted right now) and doing day to day, 2-3 day and intra-day trades while watching the charts and feeling hunches. "I'll give you the top 20% and the bottom 20% if you give me the 60% in the middle". Heard that on CNBC today and it kind of jibes with my approach.

Happy to trade engaging and illuminating Skype chats with like-minded souls here in the UK, US, Asia-Pacific and elsewhere.

Drop me a PM to get in touch. Not sure how much longer I'll be in this market, but for now it's beautifully 'honest' and that's working for me.

Hi..I am a new trader and am about to invest $7750 in TI eek! How has your experience been with Traders International? Appreciate any feedback..

Regards Ryan

Ryan,
I have heard alot of bad publicity from TI customers and have not heard alot of good news,
I went to their Seminar, was impressed but question i have to ask from research is does it
really do as they say? Good luck with it all, I was really interested in joining too until i did my
own research, would love to hear how you go or how other Australians are going.

Hello:Sydney I'm from the Gold Coast.Been trying to find someone trading with TI to see if they are as good as their speil before I commit $8000.Its hard to get past the idea of someone you don't know wanting you rich.http:

G'day, i'm on the other side of the pond in Auckland, NZ. Currently day-trading the S&P 500 with Traders International. Is the market always this....flat? I've just started to get the signal TXT's at 2-3am. I never used to trade this late, but now I have to wake up! Although useful, I'm still figuring out if TI's strategies are the best way to trade.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm trading with very little capitol and a whole lot of unemotional discipline. I can't make mistakes.

I have to admit I had traders international, but not using them any more, any one wants the membership, if I could, I would give the membership for free to any one including login password and all training material.
