Is there anything available to trade the dax in a smaller size than a full futures contract? WHC do it on Metatrader but looks a bit dodgy, and spreadbets have a large spread. Any alternatives?

There is no DAX mini contract. You might wanna have a look at the eurostoxx 50 if you're looking for smaller size. Trades 10 EUR/tick and margin varies from 700 to 2500 EUR per lot, depending on your broker.
