I am really sorry that you joke about a situation that the people in my country are not entirely responsible. When you get a salary of 350-900 euros each month having Master Degrees or PhD is not a joke. We pay rent of 370 euros minimum and we try to survive with dignity so we didn't chose to play all these political games and we pay taxes and bills etc. Feeling trapped in your own country is not the best feeling. So please think twice before you start joking when any of you could be in this situation. Thank you.

Love GR, in what sense are the Greek people not responsible for the Greek debts, the fact greece uses the Euro, and the budget deficit and expanding debts of Greece? If you mean you personally, then sure.

Why do you feel trapped when you have free access to the whole European Union which countless millions outside of the EU would give almost anything for ?

Don't worry, Sir - you will have the last laff. Soon Italy, Spain, Portugal will be where you are\were. Then the big fish (UK) who is slowly dying inside, sort of imploding in slow motion will join you and everyone will forget about Greece as they gaze at THE FALLEN EMPIRE that will be in the limelight.

You will have the last laff.

Brit businessman was at a pier in a small coastal Greek village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large fish. The Brit complimented the Greek on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

The Greek replied only a little while.

The Brit then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catch more fish?

The Greek said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.

The Brit then asked the Greek how he spent the rest of his time.

The Greek fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a nap with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends. I have a full and busy life, Sir."

The Brit scoffed, "I am an Oxford educated gent and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and, with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats, eventually you
would have a fleet of fishing boats.

Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution.

"You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Athens, then London and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Greek fisherman asked, "But Sir, how long will this all take?"

To which the Brit replied, "15-20 years."

"But what then, Sir?" asked the Greek.

The Brit laughed, and said, "That's the best part! When the time is right, you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public. You'll become very rich, you would make millions!"

"Millions, Sir?" replied the Greek. "Then what?"

The Brit said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take afternoon rests with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your friends."

Let's say that your government that you voted before the elections declare that there is gonna be an increase on salaries etc and the economy of the country is stable. Then after the elections they say that we dont't have money because we realize that all the previous years the governments used the money that they got from Europe or from taxes for their own profit and the country is about to declare bankruptcy. How is that making the people that live in that country responsible? Are you responsible if your government hides the real facts about the economical situation and one fine day you realize that all you have worked for several years like health insurance, pension etc are about to collapse? I am not saying that Greek goverments are not responsible but not the simple citizens. Iceland was the first in Europe to feel the change from Euro back to their currancy and they do fine now, I wish we go back to our own Drachma. Thank you.

Personally I would like to have the choice to stay in my country and work there. Right now getting a job in Greece is like winning the lottery. I have lived and worked in the past in other European countries. Yes the salaries are better and opportunities are more especially in Northern Europe but the culture is different the lifestyle is different. In young age you can travel but what about those that are over 40 or 50 that speak just Greek and have a family. Its not easy moving away. There are peoepl that got loans to pay there houses and they have to stay and try because they are not alone. Thank you.

That made me laugh :) Thank you. Is not far from what many people believe in Greece. The gist is that we do not need luxuries to be happy and many people around the world try to find the happiness in luxuries and what money can buy but simple people find happiness in simple things. Thank you.

This is what you get with democracy. Citizens who vote themselves into bankruptcy. Good politics is almost invariably bad economics and the average person is dumber than a post.

for what purpose donation is being collected. any one would like to share information.

Well to be honest I think the whole donation thing is silly and has no actual purpose. Even the Greek people do not agree with the donation idea. It is a wrong move and gives bad image about the country. Greek people that live that live in other countries wanted to help and asked a way to help. The banks opened accounts that supposed to collect money that would be for the debt. Something like that was the start. I heard that in some countries when they saw the episodes around the parliament they started collecting food and blankets to send us. Soon though that won't be far from reality. If people can't have jobs and money to live they will start living in the streets. Unfortunately people especially in Athens are having troubles to cover their needs. Thank you.

The only honorable way for the rich Greeks to help their motherland is to buy the distressed Greek govt. bonds as much as they can but nothing like this seems to be happening. The country obviously must pass their Golghota ...

Yes indeed! Are you aware of how the monetary system works? Its a must research and spread the word imo. Its not secret why the world has 'debt' problem once you get the general gist.
A couple of interesting vids on Greece below.

The concept is actually deeper than even what you so nicely gathered.

Business and big money chasers go full circle whereas the so-called poor, devoted family man (regardless the nationality or county of residence) has a taste of PARADISE in his daily life EVERYDAY.

A stark corollary is even so easily evident in life amongst the super rich. With millions, billions of dollars in their name, they are terrified to quit the money game - why? Because there is nowhere else to go, its the end of the line.

Therein lies the aphorism, "the top of the ladder is a very lonely place"
