ive currently got a trade going which is a little into negative territory which is not too concerning at present but one thing that is quite annoying is how much it costs to lower the stoploss.

i just dropped it 50 pips and expected to see a £50 reduction in my account ballance but nooooo. they are taking 1.25 gbp per pip that i move the stops. (using capital spreads).
are they charging me interest somehow, obviously if i leave the stop where it is and it happens to be triggered they will take the extra £75 from me even though the price drops by only 50.
is there any way of avoiding this other than keeping the stops closer to entry level.

.... They are only taking margin, not charging you any money.

It is insurance for them against your loss, which can far exceed your stop loss.

It doesn't COST anything to move a stop loss, except the cost of carry that comes from you investing more of your account balance as margin into a position.

A better question you should be asking is
' Why am i trading, when i don't have a clue what i'm doing or how my platform, the market, or execution actually works'

The way to avoid this: Trade DMA.

Ooh..Ooh..please Sir, can I answer this Question? Is it because he's a spread-betting monkey?
